...this is more of a gripe than a franchise thing but I'm gonna post it here because there are probably more people here who can verify what I just found out: Is it true that after you finish a season as the champ this fact won't show up in the "team records"?!? To this point I'd like to believe this happened to me 'cause I've done something wrong...

I know this was a bug that happened to some people in NBA Live 2001, but I haven't seen it happen in NBA Live 2003 yet. Then again, I never had it happen to me in NBA Live 2001.

Pretty much. It's like the overtime bug in previous Lives, where a game would end in a tie and no overtime would be played - another bug that I never experienced, and was very rare (but no doubt annoying for anyone who experienced it).
