How to give a player a custom headband...?

Postby Nick on Mon Dec 16, 2002 9:44 pm

If i wanted to give a player...hmm...say Allen Iverson a custom headband that had a specail logo of some sort.
How would i do that? what folder do i create and where do i put the headband file? and what do i name the headband file?
Do i just create C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA Live 2003\render\xplayer\alivers\ and chuck the headband file in there? what would the headband file be called? and would it be .fsh or .viv?
in fact if someone has the time to explain this properly to me (preferably Yohance or Devastator because i know they can do it) then i would feel mighty fine. :D

Thanks.

You need to create a FSH file called hbnd.fsh and place it in the \NBA Live 2003\render\xplayer\alivers\ directory.

To create the hbnd.fsh you just extract an existing headband FSH file out of the game and then import your own custom image into that FSH file using EA Graph.

With 375+ posts under your belt I would hope that people can understand you :P.

Yes, you can put a headband on a created player. Besides putting the hbnd.fsh file in the appropriate xrender directory for your created player you must also edit the players.dbf file and change the following things for the player:

PLAYERPKG = xxxxxxx <--player ID name (also the name of the directory you create inside the xrender directory)
ISCREATED = F
FACEPATCH = F
HEADWEAR = 1

You may have already done most of these steps if you have put a custom cyberface on your created player...

You can try naming the hbnd file as
hbnd_home or hbnd_away
It might work ... same as the shoe files
just dont leave a hbnd.fsh otherwise that is default

just make a hbnd_home.fsh file only
no hbnd_away.fsh or hbnd.fsh

I have a custom player and whenver I change his 'iscreated' value to false, his face just turns plain black and he has no features. Is there a way to get around this? Also can you have home/away headbands?Someone help me!
