Hi all. I just wanted to share a way around one of the short comings in the game concerning editing of players ratings during the franchise. The way the game shipped, you can't do it. But, there is a way to edit anything that you can edit out of Franchise while in franchise.
Here it is: Save a default roster to a new numbered slot you will remember. This save folder number will be your working roster (ie C:\MyDocuments\NBALive2003\saves\000.001, 002 etc.)
Now, in the C:\MyDocuments\NBALive2003\saves directory you should have your Franchise saved in a folder like 000,001,002 etc.. Take the following files from this directory and copy them over the files in the directory that you just saved as your working roster (ie C:\MyDocuments\NBALive2003\saves\000.001, 002 etc.) {CAREER.dbf, COACHES.dbf, PLAYERS.dbf, TEAMGEAR.dbf, TEAMINFO.dbf, TEAMS.dbf,TMCAREER.dbf
Now ,when you go back into the game and load the working roster, it will have the current franchise roster that you are playing. Edit the rosters and players as normal within the game. Save the roster over the working roster and recopy them back to the Franchise directory.
When you come back into the game and reload the franchise, it will reflect your ratings, gear etc... changes made while editing.
