New Orleans Hornets Court patch RELEASED!

Postby bchogan on Thu Dec 12, 2002 7:34 pm

I finished my first 2003 court patch. It updates the Hornets court to the current version.
Here's a screenshot:
http://bchoganx.tripod.com/nocrt2003.html
You can get it at my site, LIVEFILES:
http://bchoganx.tripod.com/
I'm currently updating my site, so not everything's up.
For those of you who remember me, I'm back, baby! I'm going to release more patches soon--next up is the Portland court.
Since I had to adjust some of the index.fsh settings for the textures, let me know if this patch crashes anyone's system.

The real court does have those, but it wasn't possible to put them in. As usual, I have to make some sacrfices due to the way the court files are set up. But it's generally easier to patch the courts in 2003 than in previous Lives. Or at least quicker.

bchogan,

Man that screenshot doesn't give your patch justice--this court looks AWESOME in the game and I like the Nextel on the backboard stand covers. Excellent patch, can't wait for the Blazers court. 8)

Very nice! Thanks. Lookin forward to your future releases...

Now if someone would fix the Detroit court. The colors are wrong and the basketball graphic in the middle of the court is sad.

how did u change the colors on the court?

Postby bokayo on Fri Dec 13, 2002 11:40 am

how did u change the colors on the court?

please teach us of your techniques OH GREAT MASTER!!!

u have written court tutorials before please do it again for today

i think the old tecniques does not work any more

dont worry i'll not compete with you i'll be making courts for the local league here in the philippines

i think u can use the OEdit program to place bitmap texture anywhere on the court.

please email me (bokayo80@yahoo.com) for the details on how u make the colors

thanks

PS.
u can download the OEdit program from http://www.nd4spdworld.com/

ic...well still the court looks tight! great job! btw, another question, are the courts going to be patched for live 2003 will still going to have the same SHARP look like they did in live 2001? coz the orig courts by EA are kinda blurry right?

Yes you can...you can move everything including the court lines...which made me immediately think of Kq and his international team patch (if he is doing it for Live 2003) since it is probably possible to change the shape of the key to the international style...

I'll try to write up a tutorial sometime, but I want to make sure I have enough info first. Plus, I'm spending my time making patches right now. I've got the two major ones out of the way now, with New Orleans and Portland (at least they're the two in the game that were the most unlike their real courts), so now it's mostly a matter of tweaking the rest of the courts.

I think you're refering to the my 2001 courts, where I couldn't properly get the mipmaps to work, so textures didn't blur correctly. 2003 is a little different, so the textures look right.

Try following the steps in the "read me" file.

BTW, I've tried using OEdit, but I can't open any of the NBA Live 2003 O files. I keep getting an error message saying "Magic does not match! This is not an ELF file!" Does somebody actually have this working or is all this talk about it just wishful thinking?

Thanks, bokayo! It works for me now! I had previously extracted the .o files using vivedit and vivmagic insted of EAGE, so they were still compressed.
