allstar and superstar level are just tooo different, wtf

Tue Dec 10, 2002 6:21 am

i am currently using DK's most recent patch

with cpu assis off and i play the lakers

on allstar level, i can beat any teams, say kings, or whatever by more than 30 or 40 points every time and keep their % under 35 every time.

However at superstar, it just seems to me that my teammates just defenses worse than before. In allstar, when someone on the other team shoots, the one guarding him would jump and put a hand on his face, but in superstar, they dont do that and just stands there, that's just messed up.

also, freethrows, u know what that's about... basically i give up 15 points just on freethrow... getting fouled on anyone but Kobe or Fisher basically means turnover

after several games vs Cleveland and Miami, i have not won one game yet

everytime, the computer is able to get fg% above 55 or even 60 %

what should i do?

I play on superstar with DK roster. Now i am on 8-3 standing. It is not that hard you know, the key is too reduce turnover and make sure the shots go in. I just beat dallas 104-103 on my last game. I play 7 mins and rules on. I shoot 60% dallas shoot 59%. i made all of my free throw even shaq.

with free throws dont try & hit the button as soon as the ball gets to the middle. Prress the button as soon as the ball hits the far side of the meter. The damn thing goes so fast the "momentum will run it right into the middle.

Yep, the standing "D" of your CPU teamates really limits the ability to enjoy playing at the superstar level. That's one reason the CPU shoots better at that level, no hand in the face, no shot challenge.

yipppeee....my 1st win on superstar!!

just beat the sixers 88-84 using DK's tweaked roster 12/08. the other game settings were arcade - all rules on, off foul meter set to 0%, def foul meter set to 100%, (no cheap charges!), 8min qtrs.

after taking it at AI with the cat & sitting him down with 2 quick fouls, i was able to play a stifling modified zone with stevie just floating from player to player & ming anchoring the middle to take a 31-8 lead @ qtr time, (I was amazed  ). for the rest of the game it was a case of just buckling up as the sixers fought back. they actually tied the game 54-54 in the 3rd qtr but i was able to hold them off for the win.

here are the game stats;

Entire Game Philadelphia Houston

Points 84 88
Bench Scoring 20 10
Field Goals 35/70 33/59
Field Goal % .500 .559
3 Point FG 1/9 1/4
3 Point % .111 .250
Free Throws 13/18 21/30
Free Throw % .722 .700
Rebounds 22 40
Off. Rebounds 2 10
Def. Rebounds 20 30
Blocks 0 6
Steals 10 2
Assists 14 23
Turnovers 5 13
Fouls 24 10

as u can see i kept to's down as much as i could, dominated the boards & played smart offense using the pick 'n roll alot. i was able to limit their fastbreaks by playing structured offense - hence my high fg%. on D i constantly doubled the ballhandler, esp AI & McKie trying to get the ball out of their hands & make other guys beat me. when they went on runs i called a TO to help break the momentum, (not sure it worked but i feel better doing that :? ) franchise got POG with 17pts, 4rebs, 13asts.
