I have a strange strategy for not missing a 3 point shot.
Try this out and see if you see what I mean. Take Reggie Miller from the 90's all stars and practice in all-star mode. If you are fairly good, you can hit like 2 or 3 three pointers in a row and then miss.
Now, instead of timing it so that you release the button at the top of your jump, release the shot at the last possible moment before coming down again (release just before you get a traveling violation) and you'll make an almost unlimited amount of three pointers.
I haven't had time to try this in a full game or other players, but at least I bet you get a much higher accuracy if you release at the last possible second.

is this on 'USER' or 'CPU' controlled shooting? I am pretty sure that for 'USER' controlled the best time to release the shot is at the peak of your jump and for 'CPU' it just doesn't matter... but it may be different in NBA Live 2003.. I know on the weekend I was playing with Dirk on my team and I held the button too long to avoid a block and the shot still went in but it rattled around a bit. I think sometimes it is better to hold the button a bit longer to avoid the block... but whether it is better than releasing it at the peak of the jump? I dunno? have to keep an eye on that...

obviously he's using user control... since he's controlling the timing? anyway, that seems interesting. i'm gonna try it out myself ^^;

You talking about practice, I could take Bruno Sundov on the original rosters and make 90% in practice, its just that hard to miss.

I'm definitely doing user controlled. It's kind of hard to time it, but make sure you are squared to the basket and don't pump fake before the shot for best results. Releasing at the last possible moment gives me a higher percentage than releasing at the top of the jump!

i like cpu shooting as it relies on how good your shooter is, not how good i am
