Hi guys!
What are you using right now - CPU or Human shot control?
I use faboulous DK's tweaks (the best out there) and CPU Shot Control, and I still get around 50-52% FG, which is a bit high. If I switch to Human, would I get lower percentages?

when u use human u control how/when u want to release ur shot,
example: holding onto the button too long, will cause the ball to be overshot
holding it too short will cause an airball
cpu: u jus hav to press the shoot button, and the cpu determines if it goes in or not (50-50)
thats how it works

Most likely... you see when you have shot control on CPU it just uses the players stats (ie FG %, and shooting range etc...) to determine if the shot is going to go in... but with USER control it uses the stats plus you have to release the ball at the right time. So on USER even if you do a shot the player usually makes if you don't release the shot correctly it won't go in. And if you do release a shot correctly that a player wouldn't make then it still won't go in... so there is more chance the ball won't go in and makes the game more challenging.. you will especially notice the difference when trying to shoot 3s ... if you don't release the ball right you get no tre's ... while on CPU if you have a good 3 point shooter you can hit them from outside every time the player is open...
I personally prefer USER control shooting.. requires more skill to play the game... ofcourse once you become good at the game and learn to release the shots right the difference between CPU and USER will be negligible....

i always use USER control shooting because i want to be in control of my own shot, not having percentages or ratings determine whether the shot will go in or not. Besides, where is the thrill where you catch, shoot and release the shot based on your skill if the CPU control will determine if your shot will go in or not?

if u look in the game manual it says that cpu control will keep the game close whereas user will not.......i am not sure if it has any effect on individual shot attempts based on this explanation?

I´ve always played with USER control in the earlier versions because of two reasons.
1. The game is more challenging - especially when it comes to treys.
2. That you have some sort of influence whether you miss or not on an open shot.
However, I feel that in 2003 it is waaay to easy to hit open shots - even though I´ve only had the game for a couple of days. It seems like I hit the open shot EVERY time as long as it is within that players shooting range. Which is just one of the many factors that make my FG% rise up to incredible figures unless I restrain myself and intentionally start attempting to shot from poor positions... So perhaps I should be using CPU control with this game.
@greenmig; I doubt that USER/CPU control has anything to do with keeping games close, this has to do with the "CPU assistance"-option - or at least that has been the case in all the previous versions.

I use CPU, because you can make those open shots easily, not like HUMAN. If you use HUMAN, you have to press the shoot botton, and release it when you jumped at the highest point, so if you are really good at it, you can make all tough shots. When I played Live2001, I used HUMAN, and most shots I made was either dunk or layup, so it was kinda tough.

So what is meant by default in regards to shooting control.

Hmm... are you sure that stats still affect my shooting even i am playing with user shot control? I thought only timing of release affects my shooting on user, so you can make 3 with even shaq if only timing is right.... does stat really come to play???

Ratings make a difference no matter which option you select, although on USER you can usually better overcome poorer ratings.
