I finally have won in superstar mode. WOOOOOO

Yeah, finally i have won in superstar mode after losing in this mode for while. This is the first time i have beat CPU in superstar mode, it is a very good feeling. Now i have a lot of confidence. I beat pistons 85-75. I managed the big run in the fourth quarter. I think that to win in this mode, you have to play your DAMN best. I have to shoot over 57% to beat them. The CPU shoot 49% My turnover is 10. C YA

Good feeling huh? As you can see, playing wisely pays off. I had the same problem at first, but then I learned to be prudent with my ball distribution and shot selection. This minimized steal/turnovers and improved my fg%. On defense, rotation and reaction is key, as well as defensive matchup adjustments and defensive style of play(Man-man,etc). With Hoopcity's roster, it's even better. Good to hear of your win.

well...along this week i've learned to beat the cpu in superstar level too, now my next step is doing it the realistic way...i mean...if u want to beat the cpu on superstar EVERYTIME just wait to the opportunity to handle the ball to your C or PF wisely and wait for the cpu to go for the steal on your that player, turn back and slam or score the short jumper and there u go...i managed to even beat the 90's all stars with the knicks (dice scoring 58 points and .875 fg %)...but now i'm trying to get my backcourt players a little more active to make it more realistic...still i find this is a flaw in the game...its way easier to score with any tall guy with a decent (75 or so) inside scoring/field goal/dunk rating than to do it with lets say iverson or t-mac or some other top SG's...
another issue is when they're trailing late in the game and start doubling ur PG to force the turnover, your other SG will not move himself wisely over the court and the CPU moves way too fast, so if you pass to him after beeing doubled its very likely that the both cpu players doubling you before will stand right in front of you again before the ball arrives...anyway the game is still a lot of fun to play and try to do it the realistic way.

Toni,

What settings do you use with the HCL roster?

An hour ago, I was using the Kings, and I managed to pull off a 1 point win against the Cavs in Superstar mode.

It's tough winning in superstar mode, thankfully, I had CPU Assist turned on, and I kept draining 3's with Peja :D

Scotty Mase, as far as settings, I play 6 or 8 min qtrs depending. Superstar, Arcade mode for a more deliberate pace and -5/-10 player quickness with select teams for analysis. This reduction in quickness(I also assume strength and defensive awareness will play a factor here)is key to reducing ease of scoring downlow with C's and PF's.

Felipe, although it's easy to score downlow especially with the original rost er, this problem could be mitigated somewhat if one were to adjust the above areas considerably. You can either lower quickness, strength, raise defensive awareness or a combination of 2 or all 3 for a more dramatic effect. The tricky part is in finding a good balance as you all know. You don't want the game to be too stiff if you know what I mean, as this spoils the games dynamics and can render key elements of the game such as the freestyle moves, useless. But, we're very close here, especially with the Hoopcity roster IMO. I'll post my results later..
