having gameplay problems with PC version

ok this might sound like a dumb question so try not to laugh. but ever since i got live 2003 for PC, i can't make any free throws. the thing goes by way too fast, even in rookie mode! and when i press the shoot key, the orange thing keeps going by even when I have it right where I want it. I have to keep pressing the button over and over before the program even notices, and then it gets stuck in the wrong place, so I miss the shot! And when I try to move my players or make shots or do anything, the game does not react. I will be pressing buttons and the other team goes through their plays anyway. It won't let me block shots or do anything until after the play is complete (so my person will jump up about 5 seconds after the shot has already gone in.) Sometimes I get 5-second violations when my person is trying to inbound it (when I have BEEN pressing the pass button.) I never had these problems when I played 2001! I know my keyboard is configured right because it works fine in one on one and practice mode. What's going on here?

Well it could be the controller your using. What are your computer specs?

well my controller is just a keyboard. and here's what it said in dxdiag about my system:
