Online or offline

I know this is going to be an odd question, but OH WELL!!!

I usually play my games while still being connected to the internet. Does the smoothness of gameplay depend somewhat on whether you are connected to the internet?

the internet takes up system resources, so naturally gives the computer less to run Live w/... so, it would be wise to disconnect from the internet first... hope that helps
