NEW 'Bump 'n Grind' Roster Patch..

Postby greenmig on Thu Nov 28, 2002 10:42 pm

Just like everyine else I have been tweaking the players.dbf file. I started with felipe's v1.5 then did the following;

1. reset his steals rating of *0.2 then * steals by 0.1 - cpu players where still going for too many ridiculous steals & fouling out.

2. reset his off aware rating then * only PG's/SG's by 0.8 - trying to reduce shooting of smaller players.

3. * PG's/SG's primacy by 0.64 - again trying to reduce their penchant for pinging j's.

4. PF's/C's * of awareness by 0.8 - trying to reduce overall teams fg%

5. speed divide all players by 0.96 - try to speed game up a little as felipes patch made it just a tad too slow.

6. inside scoring - divided PF's & C's inside scoring by 0.95 - again trying to make the big guys play more offense....

i play 9min qtrs on allstar level as superstar just busts my ass soooo much. i set the foul meter to half way for offensive & full for defensive. i am now getting some pretty realistic scores...although i still usually get toasted. here is a recent game team stats again portland...i play for the rockets;

hou por
96 110
35/76 41/84
0.461 0.488
5/17 6/15
0.294 0.400
21/29 22/29
0.724 0.759
41 36rebs
7orb 3orb
34 33
11blks 4
5stls 12stls
16asts 25asts
25to's 18
24fouls 31

as you can see the stats are pretty close to real nba stats...if u like a bump n grind type game where it is real physical in the paint with offensive boards a premium, no easy layins, physical post up play...not much fast breaking then this yer patch....

the battle between wallace, sabas, davis and yao, mo taylor & griffin on the boards was colossal....now i just gotta structure my offense a bit better with less to's

if u want it...give me a hoy & i will email u the file :P

i forgot to say the other big feature of this roster patch which is.....

fully updated rosters & rotations, (based on mins/gm) including the right guys on IR, (ie: Ray Allen recently) for every team up to the 27th November!

also, i have begun implementing a new primacy calculation for each team i come up against based on mike aparicio of hoopscity live formula. this succesfully ranks players in order of 'greed' when they get on the court...ie: who will shoot the rock based on fga/fta/min compared to all other players on the team...the same formulae is applied for fatigue too based on mins/gm compared with the whole team.

All of the tweaks sound very good. Please upload it and I'll have a try, or send it to me: sbasket@wanadoo.es

I made some on-the-fly tweaks on my latest .dbf (1.6), but with only private (franchise :) ) purposes.

BTW, it's an honour for me to have my tweaks as starting point for another patchmakers 8)

Felipe

Here is the result of my latest game with my patch....I play 9min qtrs on allstar...i play with the rockets....

Entire Game Houston Golden State

Points 100 96
Bench Scoring 30 29
Field Goals 42/84 37/70
Field Goal % .500 .529
3 Point FG 5/20 5/13
3 Point % .250 .385
Free Throws 11/19 17/23
Free Throw % .579 .739
Rebounds 35 37
Off. Rebounds 12 4
Def. Rebounds 23 33
Blocks 10 3
Steals 10 7
Assists 26 20
Turnovers 12 14
Fouls 13 21

i think these stats r pretty close...maybe the fg% is a tad high...but that is mainly cos there was a lot of postups & scores from around the basket....not too many j's for either team..
