covering cpu's pick and roll

Postby chorg on Mon Nov 25, 2002 5:40 am

i am getting killed by computer pg's using a pick and roll @ the 3 point line, and then stepping back for 3's. How do you defend that? i've tried double teaming the ball handlers, but on that high screen my other players don't come up to make it work... Any ideas?

This is what I do...

Option #1 -- Use your point guard and step in front of the screen and guard the three (put your hands up if he does decide to shoot), if the other point guard blows by you, switch to the man guarding the screener to block the shot.

Option #2 -- When there is any indication of a pick and roll, take the man guarding the screener and double the point guard immediately. Keep your hands up and make sure you guard the passing lanes.

Option #3 -- When there is any indication of a pick and roll, use the quick play command for double team this will automatically double the point guard, then your job is to switch and drop back and play the passing lanes.

Hope this helps.

exactly
play it like it is in real life
most time the big guy will end up coming out and doubling the ball
or, like -lac- said, u get the defender to step in-front of the screen

or another option that would only happen in live, u can actually continually move so that the screener cant set up, so he wont ever set a screen
