.:My Tweaked Roster Patch - BY DK 1/24/03 UPDATE OUT:.

I need to tweek a hoster i have. I need to reduce speed, inside scoring and defencive rebounding. If I send you my roster...can anyone tweak it for me? Pleeeeeease?

I'm sorry but it takes so long to send these files on 56K so you should look for someone else to do this.

To all others, I'm hoping to release a new version today that will feature a strength tweak (All players are on a scale of 90-99).

BTW I'm now a true beliver that if you want a NBA type of atmosphere you have to play Super Star. On All Star I could blow out the CPU by 40 if I wanted to, now the CPU gives a good realistic chalenge and you can't make mistakes. Fast breaks are not easy to get for the human or CPU getting a dunk feels great as the CPU will always put you on the line before it gives you an easy basket.

dk got a question 4 u... i have a save folder 00 (season) using ur roster patch, then i want to copy and paste only the player.dbf to another folder 05 (season).. is that ok or i should copy paste all the files like the team.dbf, coach.dbf etc. ??

dk, the roster is really great to play! its not good, that you cant really use it for franchises but thats a problem, many rosters have got! however, for seasons or single games, its really great!

You can just paste the players.dbf BUT you will lose all player stats up to that point and players will look like they have't playeda game yet.

Thanks a lot DK for your great roster update, I'm really enjoyng it in my Orlando Franchise. I used to blow away the opponents in All-Star mode, but in Superstar it's great. I played against Golden State (last team in Pacific) and I won by 2 points (away)!! What a game. My season is now 7-6 and it's great.

For the franchise problem: it would be nice that someone (like the author of the Toolkit) could make a specific tool that can patch all the rookies in next seasons. People like DK can give all the tweakings, and a program like the NBA toolkit could take all the new rookies and tweak them, like the megamodifier but with fixed tweakings given by the author. I'm not a programmer, it's just an idea that came to my mind in this moment

hey, i have some question:

what kind of grafic card do you have and at what level of details do you play.....i have a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128 DDR and i can't play nba 2k3 at the highest details....what do you think?

If you haven't downloaded the new update, DO SO NOW!! I'm really impressed with the results here. The players really hold their ground now and this forces the cpu to distribute the ball alot more as they should. This ultimately translates into a much better playing game, no doubt about it. Defense is also much improved on both ends(Cpu and human). No more Kobe flying through the lane unabated. This is it folks, the game should play like this out of the box!!!

Once again, outstanding job here.

BTW, if you experience alot of cpu fastbreaks, make sure your camera angle is set right. I use press at half level, zoom off. This gives a wide court perspective and allows me to usher my last man back effectively.

I run the game on a crappy 32 meg card, 128 meg ram and 1ghz procesor Win XP

I need to upgrade soon

I play 640*480 Med player, shadow off, reflections off, lighting high, textures high. It runs at about 35 FPS

Nice work DK.I want to ask you one thing.What this new strength tweak does?What are the benefits of toughening up the post play?

One prob that i have noticed with the new strength tweak is that when u control a big guy like Sakil or Ostertag and tell them to take charge when the get it they dont fall down but its like nobody even touched them.Maybe u should decrease the strength a bit at those guys so we wont have incidents like this.

They always fall when I do it, and besides every time Shaq commits an offensive foul you don't see a player fly accros the court.

Again DK great patch , couldn't play the game without it.

But i got a couple of questions,
I'm editing a pair of players for myself (shooting a bit) through the dbf files so do you edit there the "player value" file too or is it not needed ?

When you change the starting lineups do you edit the overall rating in the dbf files too , cuz like you know otherwise the cpu will reorder the roster in season when the top overall-rating players are not included.
So i simply want to give the top ratings to the starters.
Want to do that cuz i want wright to start at c in memphis and best to start in miami.

And i'm tryin at the moment to find a solution to stay with your tweaks and find a way to bring the ranking in season mode (standings) in a right amount.Cuz it simply sucks that most of the times denver and memphis are great , the lakers and the kings are bad in the standings.
Anyone find a solution on that ?

dk, i've read that it's possible to tweak the rookies (to use your roster in franchise mode), could you please explain me, how this works?

Fg% still too high and this cause low rebound numbers... If you reduce fg ratings, then rebound numbers raise automaticaly. And everything go to normal.


I know, my English is very bad, but try to understand.

OK, I'm going to say this for the last time: If you take and just isolate and dunk every time YES the fg% will be high, if you play shitty D YES the CPU will have a high fg%.

Some of you are too good for this game/roster and neet to try other things and I realize that but I'm not going to change everything because 3 people out of 300 have a problem, I'm sorry.
