Fair enough, but that's still insufficient. After all, I created the missing players and kept up with transactions. Obviously, you've put a lot of work into tweaking them for better gameplay but a lot of work has gone into what was already done when you modified the patch.
If you use someone else's work as a base, they deserve full credit for the work they have done and they must be clearly acknowledged as having contributed to your project. And you must ask them first.
Tell you what. I'm fine with you distributing the roster patch as long as I'm given full credit for the work I have done. That means acknowledging it was based on a version of the NLSC roster update and acknowledging me as the original author of the patch - not just in the installation file or readme, but also on any download pages or pages containing information about the roster patch.
You should be thankful that someone gave you some credit.
but thats no reason to be mean to someone because he is actually giving you credit
you didn't create his patch, you didn't make the equations that use real nba stats to give out the ratings he has now, so techincally, all he used from your patch was the new player information (name, college, etc) and nothing else.
Be happy with your credit.
If you are really mad at people using your patch without giving you credit, then the ENL Patch should be the last place to come and bitch about you not getting credit, I would start off with other patchers that just use your patch, change the name and release it saying they did it.
The way I see it, you got enough credit for it, as all he used from your patch was the player information and not the ratings.
