My tweaked players.dbf is online

Felipe, I liked your previous roster more. Now it's just too slow. I don't know, maybe it would be best if you raise speed and quickness up again, just a bit so crossovers look normal :)
Oh, one more thing... Lower steals rating also, or raise ball-handling. There are still too many TO's.

i have tried to extract this to my save folder, but that doesnt work

i also tried to extrat these files to the current dbf and that didnt work either

what am i doing wrong?

i put the files into my saved folder under 02 which is my back up of my franchise

and i put them in the currnent and original dbf,

when i started the game the ratings were altered, but when i went to load my franchise my 02 save was gone!

when i loaded my original save/franchise the ratings were not altered

what gives?

a bit slow

i held the cpu to 47%
i shot 58% though

i found the tweaks to be a bit slow, i like the lower fg though, but the game is now too slow imo

Hey,

very good work, but don´t take your laster patch, because speed is too low.

There is a other prob. players don´t hit a basket near the basket..
I don´t know, but the computer do that....

I think there much work do do. Much testing for the future....

First thanks for the work you've done. Is it possible for you to do a roster with the following: speeds in the 60-80's range, leave 3 shooting where good shooters are in the 86-90 range. Drop field goals 5%, and build defensive awareness to where most players are in the 80's? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just too d**n dumb with dbf pro right now to do it myself.

Hey Felipe,

after playing round about 10 hour of nba 03 with your roster
(filesdates from 18.11 and 22.11) i´am a little bit tiered...... 8)

I play 9 min quarters.

My analysis:

Most of the 3 point pure shooter like Barry etc can´t hit the 3
the average by the most of the 3 point shooter are 21% until 31%
(31% Ray Allen) a 3 pointer into the face of the imponent is impossible.

Raise the 3 pt rating approx. 10 % but only by the good 3 pt shooters

Off Rebounds.
very funny . In nba 01 we had to much off rebounds now off rebound are
very rare.

Raise the off rebound approx also 10% and also only by the "rebounder"

Shooting at the rim.

Also astonishing is the shooting near the basket. Kobe have a big prob
for shooting near the basket. But also other players have sometime
problems with this thing.

Speed

A little bit to slow. I would say raising 5 % overall is a good thing
Now there is a small prob with freestyle

Steal:
oh what a foul in this game. Stealing is a bug, because it is almost impossible to create a cross pass over the field. The boys from the other team jumps everytime !!!!

For testing i would say lowered the steal rating approx 15 %

Your roster is already good ! :D

The changes of the roster are difficult because i thing similar change have a hard influence of the game ( Speed for example)

And i thing that the game is sometimes cheating. They hit the three
( Tim Hardaway has 4 from 6 ) like a machine. Hardaway was guarded
double with andre Miller and Kobe but he was hit the basket.......

Very strange.

The def Ai from your team is somtimes stupid especially by fastbreaks.
I you don´t control the defender he run back and don´t guard the first attacker or the guy rigt off his side. He look and nothing.....lol :?

To win a game you must have 2 key players center and pointguard.
pg is better than sg, aslo the pg has lower ratings as the sg

For example: Kobe plays at sg good def. but off...... last game as sg
4-25 Andre Miller 5-7 and one 3pt

I move Kobe to sf and boom he plays sensational ( dribble double two times all other games double double)

The sg posistion is weak. I try it with Allen, Pierce, the same bad results.
I make the cross check and plays Miller at sg. Bad stats

I would be happy about a new patch. And i´am disposed for the next roster testing stint of 10 hours.... :lol:

Felipe, You're doing a good job...listening to what other people have to say and suggest is what good patchers do... :wink: By the looks of things people are very happy with your work. :)

I don't have the game, but hopefully when i do you would have made the most super-dooper patch yet! :twisted: mwa hahaha...

Based on the latest roster update by DoubleA (Nov 22)

First of all, thanks everyone for your comments! It may help to make this game better!

What's new from the previous file:
- SHOOTING_RANGE lowered by 25%. According to DK and for test purposes only, this may help CPU players to score less without affect their shooting area. Used this in combination with lowered FG, so handle with care.
- PRIMACY: Get rip of the previous complex formula and set an easier (*0.8). This should help to fix the key SG problem.
- SPEED and QUICKNESS raised by 10. Most of you said the game was a bit slow, so eat this :-)
- INSIDE SCORING raised by 10. Small players had difficult to score in the paint.
- THREE_POINTER raised by 5%. Although CPU score treys easily (would this rating have effect on it???), most of you had very difficult to score from outside. Now you should do it.
- FATIGUE lowered by 10%. I noticed players get tired too slowly.

I didn't change STEAL ratings. Everyone plays different and can find hard to pass the ball without suffer a turnover, but not me. I can limit my turnovers to 8-10 which is very realistic, simply looking where I should pass. The CPU steals in two cases: 1) When it wants to steal, it steals (simple and weird, but real), and b) When you make a crazy, non-looking, non-realistic pass.

yer roster patch is by far the best so far felipe...good job...

i agree with most of yer little tweaks for v1.6...esp the slight increase in speed. i have the following comments;

1. i am keen to try out the shooting range thing....sounds interesting.
2. primacy - i think that the best thing to do on this & get rid of the pg/sg shooting problem would be to apply the primacy reduction to only pg's/sg's?
3. 3pter - mmmmm...not sure about this one as i do my beta testing on dallas...& man those guys rain the 3's down on ya....i also seem to hit a reasonable % of 3's...just shoot with the right guys, ie: rice, mobley & francis
4. inside scoring...this is a positive move i think...it may encourage more inside play?
5. lower fatigue - yer i agree

can i suggest one other little thing...i play with the rockets...for future updates can u change hawkins' name to juaquin hawkins & add a headband...i know i can do this but i am lazy :lol:

Yea, I noticed that too. I could be 10 feet from a defender, do a crossover and I lose the ball, Iverson :shock: Everything else about the patch is great felipe. I don't know if you can increase ballhandling without increasing speed.

me too. even if there is no one around my player and i try to do some freestyle moves i very often lose the ball.

Felipe: When I try to use your formula for increasing the defensive awareness which you gave (/2)+49 or (*0.5)+49 I get an "invalid expression" response from the quick test. Anyone help me here? Using AA's updated roster & I want to raise the defensive awareness to 80-89 for the majority as your roster does. Thanks in advance.

Felipe using your latest patch 1.6, i have discouvered a fairly big problem. In two games using 8 minute quarters on all star my team has only fouled the computer ONCE in two games. Is there something that you changed that effects this? I cranked the foul settings to the max yet the human controlled team never fouls anyone.

The quickness rating is directly related to how fast crossovers, etc. So, speed and quickness can have different ratings to change the game to the way you want to.

Also, someone said at another forum, it also affects stuff like blocks. High quickness and the players arms move quicker, etc...I havent tried this one myself though.
