CUSTOM TEAM

nba2kstuff i can confirm your theory on the logos... it seems EA Sports forgot that patchers may want to have custom logos for the menus... so you have to add your custom logos to the actual viv files under the 'renfe' directory... (the xlogo_s.viv, xlogo_m.viv etc... ). I hate the whole "custom art thing anyway because it makes the game run way too slow... and it seems to do heaps more CD checks? Which basically pauses my game for about 30 secs while it checks for the CD... this gets really annoying... so I don't use the "custom art" set to 1 thing anyway... I just import all my custom graphics into the viv files... which you HAVE to do for logos anyway.. leave the setting to 0 and the game runs fine with my custom teams... and heaps faster to... any patch I install I just use EAGRAPH to import the fsh into the viv... It is worth it to avoid the delays you get when trying to play the game with the setting on 1...

I haven't tried playing a playoffs game yet so I am not sure about the custom teams not showing up... but I will definetly try it now... interesting...

do you have to edit the schedule.dbf for a franchise mode ?? ? ? ? if i want to add the new charlotte franchise after 2003/2004 how can i do that ? should i change something in schedule.dbf ? or the computer create a new schedule in function of the teams u added ??

I just want to thank the people that did the research, I was a ble to add my own team without a problem with 3 jerseys. The only thing I don't like is that I have to use the NBA leuge logo as I can't imprort my own edited ones it seems.

Ok I have just run into a problem, I have a team I have made and imported these files

3 Jerseys
Logos ( There are I believe 3 versions and the player background one, I just used the NBA logos)
Court (Took eacourt and just renamed it to and imported back in)
Edited all the DBFs adding jerseys, team history, and a coach.

I can see the players in uniform in view player, I can practice and go 1 on 1, I can edit players.

When I go to play game it loads about 75% and then it crashes, what am I forgetting to do, someone please help?!

i've created a team called charlotte blue devils added to my western conference or whatever... i've used no as teamabr2 so the game dont crash.. simulated a complete season in franchise mode.. the result is i've played 86 games not 82 good stats... so now i ask how can i create a court and add logos for my team ? should i edit the team.viv and other *.viv things like that ???

ive created a custom team recently but it freezes when i sign a player from the free agent pool. and when i say freezes, it freezes when i press
the "sign player" button. what gives? help!!!

ah...that happened to me...
That means you're trying to sign players into a team with no players in it. You should release the players you want in your team so that they're in the FA pool...save...then go out of nbalive...open players.dbf and change the fields "TEAM" to your teams team #...and change ROSTPOS to suit you're team...

what does ROSTPOS means? is it the roster position of a player in a team?meaning SG, SF, PG etc..?

Well...if you look it up you'll find out :roll:

it ranges from 0-15...0 being your starting Center...4 being your starting PG...8 being the 7th position from the starting Center going down...15 being your IR3.

i folowed all the instructions given above to crete a team but when i try to play with it in the game it coses up, i have done it a dozen times following the instructions exactly but still every time I try to play it closes up, if any one has any idea what i might be missing or maybe another rule that i don"t know about i would really appreciate you telling me.

I think it might have somehing to do with the teamgear because because in the pregame screen the jersey looks blurry, any help will be gratly appreciated

I followed all these steps, but team still doesn't work. My team has a red jersey in the presentation screen and I can't start the match: the game crashes on loading. Could anyone explain me why?

Edit the teamgear.dbf and import your jersey into the xteam.viv...

It's a lot more complicated than that actually mate. :wink:

Once you 'edit' teamgear.dbf then you have to make sure you have all of the art for your team installed...
