Anyone figure out how to do this yet...I Tried. I couldn't find any team 30/rookies as jwin suggested.
CoCoBee when u say cut and paste em in there where should I paste them too, free agents? Because After awards and all that I saved, opened up toolkit and still didn't get a generated rookies pool or whatever

Go to your franchise and see if the cpu reads your players over the cpu generated players.I think this worked in live 2001 but the only problem was that the projected number 1 draft pick(computer generated) was drafted late. Play around with that, I'm pretty sure that's how people did it in live 2001.
hope that helped.
Where do I paste the created players? I only have Live 2001, and according to Jonathan Au's Toolkit there's a "team" called rookies, do I paste/put them there?
Is there anyway to totally remove ALL the computer generated rookies from appearing in the draft and instead put ONLY the players that I want?

In Live 2001, what file contains the generated rookie names. i.e. The file where the game gets the names of the rookies it generates. Is there anyway to change all the names that appear there.
I'm playing a custom league and I want the draft to feel more realistic and not have American sounding names.

That tutorial near complete?

Jerry Gildner and myself have both discovered that it is not possible to add rookies to the draft in Franchise mode, at least using the old method. The game deletes any players not on an NBA team or in the free agent pool upon entering the offseason.

So whats the best we can do?

Jerry's looking at alternate ways of adding rookies to the draft pool. I'm sure he'll post his findings in the near future.
For the moment, the best that we can do if we want our own rookies in Franchise mode is to edit them after the draft with the Toolkit/DB Commander.

andrew i just posted about this in another thread in franchise issues i think but after reading here my question for you and jerry is do you save the franchise before advancing to the offseason and add the players, then advance? or do you advance to the offseason then try to add the players? if you create them before advancing everything should work okay.
don't feed, you can't edit the rookie pool because the cpu randomly generates them, but when creating a player and adding him to the draft pool, the player does not actually go into a pool of players, the cpu recognizes the player by the team number, i use team number 30 as i did in live 2001 because in the franchises players.dbf file the last team number listed is 29 which are the free agents. there is no team number 30 listed, but when the created players are placed there the cpu picks them up as draftable rookies as long as you have all the settings for those players correct, and they must have a rookie rating to be drafted within a certain range.

So if i create the players before my franchise is over and edit the dbf to team 30, they will recognized as draftable rookies?
And how do i eliminate the default rookies that would be drafted?

I know we've discussed this elsewhere, but for clarification for those who have not read the other thread:
jwin's method works for those who want to add the rookies themselves, before they advance to the next season. However, Jerry and I are trying to add rookies to a players.dbf that will then be used to start a Franchise - this is the method that is used to incorporate prospects into roster patches. Unfortunately, this method no longer works - if you want players added to the draft pool, you'll have to do it yourself using jwin's method.
