Discussion about NBA Live 2003.

In other words, you hate people that express opinions that differ from your own...
big_stud12585 wrote:your nbalive.org network is always down (hahaha)

Yeah, great job laughing at someones misfortune. Perhaps you would like to lose $200 a month trying to keep something with no webspace or bandwidth limits. Along with no pop-up ads or crazy "Fileplanet" like things?

The first extended down time was because of an upgrade to a brand new server.

The current downtime. I cannot speak on this without breaking my contract so I will not. But it will be 99.9% stable and much faster once everything is resolved before Winter Break.
big_stud12585 wrote:but even if you didnt like it, shouldnt have put in your stoopid comments on nlsc

Yes, why should you put your comments about the NLSC on the NLSC?
big_stud12585 wrote:and their hard work into giving us a nice new design for once. i know you should be given your own opinions but at least dont say that everything sucks because it wasnt made by you Tony. as I did check your site, you for one didnt make a good site yourself. talking about the nlsc's color scheme being "way too saturated" well your site is way too plain...all you got there is just white and light gray and a stupid banner on top. and you call that "professional"? gimme a break man..

The banner has to be there, so the network doesn't lose more than $200 a month. And Tony didn't say it sucks because he didn't make it. Tony's former site was low quality because he threw it together as mainly a patch archive, since the previous one he spent loads of time on was purged.
big_stud12585 wrote:that is simply putting down Seven21's abilities and Andrew's decision to pick him to make the site...

Compared to a lot of things on this and other forums, I hardly call that putting down. Tony posted his opinion. You don't like it, Tony should still be allowed to post it. Andrew uselessly deleted him, Tony asked for patches removed. They were both in the right, and in the wrong. Hindsight is always 20/20 (which would be a decrease on my part but...what-ever)
big_stud12585 wrote:you say even your 7 year old cousin could have made something better, well look at yours...was that something made by a 7 year old or 4?

Aside from the lack of reading skills someone that age would have. There's no need to brutally attack Tony's pre-existing site, effectively involving yourself in something already resolved that you had absolutely no part in and trying to rile up another flame war.
big_stud12585 wrote:3 long months it was a big improvement from the last site isnt it? so you should be thankful to be in this community (nlsc).

NLSC isn't the community. And why should Tony be thankful to be part of this community, like you're bestowing the honor on him, when people like you are in it opressing opinions and starting flame wars over old issues? And no, the three months spent on this were not well used. But, that's my opinion.
big_stud12585 wrote:why are you calling the nlsc's management "punks"? if you dont like them, dont be posting here because like Andrew said...you're not welcome here if all you do is put down everybody and anything you dislike.

That's not all he does. He doesn't put down everyone. And posting his opinion should be allowed. Just because he doesn't like the NLSC Management doesn't mean he can't post here to engage with the other people of this part of the community.
big_stud12585 wrote:your jerseys are good but all you had to do is place a layer (jersey texture) on top of it and bam you're finished...

Travis has mostly done that for years.
big_stud12585 wrote:that dont mean you get the right to have any kind of statement you want, you cant just get on and if you see something you dont like you make a bad comment about it.

The whole supporting free speech and expression of opinions thing does though.
big_stud12585 wrote:yeah you can keep your stuff on your site, and i thnk you DID say that you werent going to post on here again, people would have to go to your site and check it out for themselves..but i see you here posting yet AGAIN..saying things like..

He's not posting his patches on NLSC, he's just announcing them and in this only case showing a screenshot.
big_stud12585 wrote:why keep posting it up and reminding people that it wont be on the nlsc database huh?

So they don't ask the question later.
big_stud12585 wrote:well we ALL know that already

Some people didn't. Because they probably wouldn't have asked.
big_stud12585 wrote:my guess is because your nbalive.org network is always down (hahaha) so all you could do is go on here in the mean time and post up previews...

Let's redicule someone for something under their own control in the future
big_stud12585 wrote:well Andrew if you dont like this post you can delete me

I don't see why he'd delete you. Unless, he dislikes people expressing opinions of course. Whether he Agrees With You or disagrees.
big_stud12585 wrote:PS: And nbalive.org is always down to everytime time. Thats is a fact Tony. I think you go to a other server...

Well, I told Tony that he probably should if he has no trust in us actually working this out and getting the network running without major financial losses. But I guess the unlimited bandwidth, space, no pop-ups, stupid download system and personal attachment keep him.

NLSC will probably never have this financial difficulty because of all the cash GameSpy rakes in. Unfortunately it has limits imposed on it. Many similar sites (including SportPlanet at one point) approached me on the issue of hosting, but I can't live with the download system, crazy ads, and other silly IIS server stuff. I trust Patiek to have it all working soon, he got in over his head and tried to do too much, now he has to go back to the successful roots. Foundation, then House. I know about it, so I'm understanding unlike some of the people who have been e-mailing me angerly and threatning like for the site, roster, etc. Thank god most people no longer know where all my mail is directed to and with the server down it doesn't get re-directed.

And that in and of itself explains the whole shebang. The fans are demanding and unappreciative of the patchers, so it makes the patchers be the same way.

Sometimes, you just long for the good 'ol days, with Boris and AJ and Vee and...

Well, Thug. I had to post. People were laughing because nbalive.org can't make ends meat. And also telling others not to post their opinions. Two things I dislike.

I apologize to anyone that the nbalive.org downtime has affected in any way. I am awaiting my A+ Operating Systems Certification to go with my Hardware one (get it within a week? pfft, good thing I knew better than to believe them) and then I will look for a job since I should be able to start at $15-20 an hour with the A+ Certification, that'll hopefully help with the financial troubles.

hm... i dunno, i don't feel like replying to this "big_stud", but the way he's posting, bashing, and how he "knows" how i just "place a layer (jersey texture) on top of it and bam [i'm] finished", awfully reminds me of a person who said basically the same stuff a while ago on the old forum, that person aging backwards, whose name begins with a T... and ends with an S...

good to see you back ;)
you cannot be more obvious.

its easy to see you do put a texture over another image and merged them dude...so whats so good about every single jersey having the same jersey wrinkles and lines on it huh? you should try and make your own jersey textures as you go...at least that means you put more time into it, and it mightve looked better too.
