How is it that you guys post your statistics like that?

Thu Dec 05, 2002 4:15 am

Just a quick tip/suggestion.

Besides the global edition of the ratings (mean FG, 3PT...), you can also edit the overall rating of every player, which is another database field (OVERALLRTG). In my tweaked files I lowered it globally by 15, so the best overall was Shaq who was 88 or something and team rankings didn't suffer big alterations.

The game does NOT recalculate overalls when rosters are loaded (maybe it does it only when playing human vs CPU). In fact, after a lot of games played in franchise mode, the overall ratings stay the same I edited: They aren't automatically recalculated.

So, doing it or maybe lowering the OVERALLRTG field by a given % may help to fix the overall teams rankings.

Hey DK, I played a game that might help your studies towards a perfect tweak :),
All start
8 mins
fouls bar thingo a bit over half way...

Fouls               9                12

Rose scored 33 points, Williams got 8 assits and Chandler got 8 rebounds so that's pretty real...
Wells was leading scorer for the Blazers with 23.

Thu Dec 05, 2002 7:23 am

A new roste rwill probably be coming out tonight
Besides the updated rosters it will feature
Inside scoring on a scale of 50-to-60
Def Awareness * 1.12 to help players stick to their men especially on isolation freestyle.

I know you are saying the inside scoring will be too low but I have tested it and good centers still kill you, like I gave up 35 to Shaq last night.

Thu Dec 05, 2002 8:30 am

And giving up 35 to shaq is unrealistic?

Btw, how are you guys pasting in your scoresheets like that?

Thu Dec 05, 2002 8:38 am

Hit the CODE button. Paste the Gamestat in. Hit the CODE button again.

Thu Dec 05, 2002 8:42 am

Puff, you misunderstoood. I gave up 35 WITH the tweak so it works just fine.

Thu Dec 05, 2002 9:17 am

*******EDIT*********

Here are some stats from a great game
Code:
Entire Game         Boston           Chicago

Points              92               91
Bench Scoring       17               24
Field Goals         32/79            36/80
Field Goal %        .405             .450
3 Point FG          5/17             8/24
3 Point %           .294             .333
Free Throws         23/27            11/16
Free Throw %        .852             .688
Rebounds            45               39
Off. Rebounds       13               7
Def. Rebounds       32               32
Blocks              5                2
Steals              8                13
Assists             23               24
Turnovers           14               14
Fouls               13               23

I gave up a 55% 3rd quarter and they had a 18 point swing to take a 9 point lead, but I was able to go to the line 7 times in the last 2 minutes of the 4th to give me the edge. I gave up a few too many steals but this is bcause I was not carefull. But the Bulls were just not fast enough in the 4th as the transition game started to pick up.

Thu Dec 05, 2002 7:35 pm

DK, your patch rocks! :D

im having a blast playing in the exhibition mode.

will your patch also produce realistic results if i use it in the franchise mode? [/b]

Thu Dec 05, 2002 10:29 pm

naw silly it wont

Thu Dec 05, 2002 10:42 pm

I'm playing franchise mode with DK's patch (well in fact it's my patch with DK's tweaks) and it's producing totally realistic league stats. However, it won't produce tweaked rookies.

So, DK's patch is suitable for Franchise Mode, but only for one season. After it, you can either edit the rookies or abort the game and start a new franchise/season.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 1:35 am

Hey,

jeep that is the botton line. Rosterpatches only for one season.. And i have no hope that we get a of. patch from ea to solve this or.... the other problems.

Marc

DK, good patch

Fri Dec 06, 2002 1:56 am

DK, you have done a great job.. I'am palying with nuggets, J.Posey is crashing everyteam down..

8min,arcade,foul maxed,superstar.

I have played now 8 games, 8-1. J.Posey is 36.2 points per game as a PG, and 5steals per game. I'am winning with 20-30points always. I thought that it would be harder with nuggets, but the nuggets are a good team..

C-M.Camby
PF- J.Howard
SF- R.Bowen
SG- P.Savovic
PG- J.Posey

Posey plays point because he can handle the ball.. and is very good against smaller pg's.. and hits BIG 3's..!!!!

Superoptik...

Fri Dec 06, 2002 6:43 am

Great roster DK, just a few aesthetic details need worked out...
Pat Burke doesn't have hair
Smush Parker's given name is William; Smush is a nickname.
William Parker has cornrows; he is not bald.
Junior Harrington's given name is Lorinza; Junior is his nickname.

Overall looks like a good patch. Thanks DK, Keep it up.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 7:46 am

lebronjames
Thanks I will incorporate the changes into the next patch

Fri Dec 06, 2002 9:44 am

Turnovers           21               23
Fouls               16               21

Well, the first game was the better overall of the two. It was close the first quarter and a half, and then I pulled away...Houston came back though late in the 3rd, and battled for the midway through the 4th. It was very disappointing considering the FG% but the difference was the Fouls/Free Throws...way too lopsided. I somehow foule Glen Rice 4 times while he was shooting a 3...and then Francis another time...15 Free Throws right there. Houston shoots lots of 3's...

Second game I jumped out 16-3, never got closer than 5 did Indiana. They stayed within striking distance though. Overall between both games the blocks are right, the steals are still a little high, the fouls/free throws are too one-sided...FG% in the two games was very good.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 10:26 am

Scotty,
If you feel you ar enot getting enough FTs here are some tips.

Call for a screen on the wing up high, go a over past it and spin diagonally towards the basket when you get to the ft line go up for a shot, chances are your defender is right on your back and he will foul you 95% of the time, if not you got a wide open J.

Also another is when doubled in the post if you pump fake for a few seconds you will get fouled about 50% of the time by a man reaching in, but you have to keep faking.

I had 17 1st quarter ft vs Philly in my last game.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 2:24 pm

I WAS PLAYIN THROUGH YOUR PATCH RECENTLY AND I'VE NOTICED
WHEN YOU DO A STUTTER STEP OR A SPIN, IT'S VERY SLOOOOOW.
AND I ALWAYS END UP GETTIN THE BALL STOLEN FROM ME, AND EVEN IF I DONT HAVE A DEFENDER UP IN MY FACE ALMOST HALF THE TIME THE BALL SLIPS AWAY. WELL I'VE ONLY TRIED IT ON THE NETS AND I KNOW JASON KIDD IS NOT THAT CLUMSY WITH THE BALL. BUT ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE THE GAMEPLAY HAS IMPROVED . AND COULD YOU PLEASE MAKE THE GAME MUCH MORE FASTER IT'S A TAD SLOW.
OR JUST RELEASE TWO VERSIONS ONE FOR THE SLIGHTLY FAST PACE AND THE OTHER FOR THE SLOWER ONE. THANKS.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 2:48 pm

AND WHERE CAN I GET FELIPE'S ROSTER PATCH, CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME. THANKS.

Fri Dec 06, 2002 4:54 pm

Keep up da good work DK
i've had some realistic results with your patch as well
but how can I active injured playerz in exhibition mode??

Sat Dec 07, 2002 6:09 am

Thanks for the roster patch DK. I played on the highest difficulty level with 12 min quarters and got these results, with me being Utah:

Code:
Entire Game         Minnesota        Utah

Points              99               102
Bench Scoring       20               35
Field Goals         41/89            45/86
Field Goal %        .461             .523
3 Point FG          5/26             3/11
3 Point %           .192             .273
Free Throws         12/15            9/13
Free Throw %        .800             .692
Rebounds            37               49
Off. Rebounds       5                8
Def. Rebounds       32               41
Blocks              2                6
Steals              14               7
Assists             19               42
Turnovers           16               19
Fouls               13               15

As you can see, the only stat that isn't realistic are the assists. The free throws are pretty low in this game as well, but that is just this game.

One thing that was irritating is that when I play the Clippers, Piatkowski seems to hit every thing. Even when I am right in his face he still hits the three-pointer. I have played other great three-point shooters, like B. Barry and Sczcerbiak and I don't have a problem with them, but I haven't seen Piatkowski miss yet.

But that really is the only flaw I saw in your roster. great job.

Sat Dec 07, 2002 6:37 pm

damn dk man! boston's team is full on un-tweaked

try playing against them, Pierce does NOT miss a shot! EVER! On Iso I call a double team on him and help out so it's going to be a contested bucket nevertheless he scores a duce, I run it up takin a jumpshot and guess who's on the other end running? yeah that's right pierce! I got spree on him who is pretty much a speedy guard and pierce still beats him on the break 4 out of 6 times!!!

I understand how you missed this cos you playin boston as well... try playing with another team and play against boston. see how you go...

Check it out man...

peace

Well Boston has the same tweaks applied all other teams do, so if he is burning you I really don't know what to say. I know that players like McGrady and Iverson can be contained as long as you don't give up too many dunks. And taking a shot while all the CPU players are not back is just asking for trouble because if you miss they will have players in great position to run.

BTW on another note a new update might be out today but it seems there will be no new tweaks for the first time besides the updated 3pt shooters since the formula seems to be pretty tight.

Sun Dec 08, 2002 1:17 pm

Entire Game Cleveland Sacramento

Points 77 99
Bench Scoring 23 30
Field Goals 33/73 43/69
Field Goal % .452 .623
3 Point FG 7/21 3/9
3 Point % .333 .333
Free Throws 4/9 10/23
Free Throw % .444 .435
Rebounds 29 43

Def. Rebounds 25 34
Blocks 0 4
Steals 13 13
Assists 16 27
Turnovers 17 19
Fouls 24 13

Got away a little bit at half then busted it open in the 3rd and 4th. Jimmy Jackson hit a 3 pointer from halfcourt at the end of the game and the players reaction was that of the shot being a game winner. Funny stuff. I'm still getting better at free throws, sometimes I just lapse and miss a few. My shooting % was definantly because of my post game, I like to call for a screen on the wing with Peja, then drive into the middle of the paint and take a jumper.

Great game! I was Orlando. Steals high...but they weren't as much as a difference in the game though...free throws were low, but that's just because the fouls never happened on shots or got into penalty mostly.
