PLEASE READ THE README!! FILE COMPLETELY BEFORE INSTALLING!

This will automatically install RimRocka's 5-on-5 street patch. This patch also fixes a problem with the original patch where the net was displayed incorrectly (fixes transparency) and also installs the original urban backboards, instead of the beach backboards. You can also use reflections if you want; I've fixed it so that only the players will have reflections. This install procedure will also protect any patches you have already installed, and will restore them when the Un-Install program is used.

This isn't necessary for my patch, but if you want to have RimRocka's Day time urban court patch, download his original patch and copy the .fsh files over the ones created by my install patch (look in the "render\xcommon" and "render\xcourt" folders for the files to replace). Remember, only replace these files after you run the Install program.

I couldnt find it either but its called enviroment (spelling?)

bchogan, do i need to extract rimrocker's patch before running your bat?
when i extracted your zipfile and run the bat, it said that " it cannot find...." and whats the use of the eazip?

Wed Mar 19, 2003 1:12 am

Wed Mar 19, 2003 2:18 am

Turn down the crowd volume then

Wed Mar 19, 2003 3:25 am

you got to put over RimRocka files first, the court files anyway.

as it sais in the readme on bchogan's zip-file:
Download RimRocka's original patch for the Day time urban court patch files, and copy them over the ones created by my install patch (look in the "render\xcommon" and "render\xcourt" folders for the files to replace). Remember, only replace these files after you run the Install program.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the hoop so that it is not red in street mode, i installed everything correctly and double checked everything and my hoop is red??

Wed Mar 19, 2003 5:01 am

there's something wrong with the 'stadiumbbd.fsh' if they appear all red.
i could be wrong cuz i haven't checked bchogan's update out yet

Wed Mar 19, 2003 5:21 am

P.S. bchogan said that it's not necessary to dowload rim rocka's patch on page 1 of this topic so I don't think that's the problem.[/quote]

damned, have you guys even read the readme? it sais clearly in the beginning of the file:
"Download RimRocka's original patch for the Day time urban court patch files, and copy them over the ones created by my install patch (look in the "render\xcommon" and "render\xcourt" folders for the files to replace). Remember, only replace these files after you run the Install program."

My Auto-Installer works perfectly if you follow the directions (you don't need to download anything other files or patches for it to work). I have tested it again to make sure, and it is working properly. Anyway, I'll try to answer all the questions:
You MUST read the ReadMe!!.txt file completely and follow all the installation instructions. In particular, you have to extract all the files from the zip file to your NBA Live 2003 folder (or to a copy of the NBA Live 2003 folder).
If you didn't copy all the files, it will not install properly. It requires eazip.exe & nfshtool.exe to extract the proper files for the installation.
You do not need to download RimRocka's patch. You only need to download it if you want the day time urban court files. Again, my Auto-Install patch will install the 5-on-5 night time outdoor urban court environment.
After installing, start the game. If you made a copy of NBA Live 2003, you MUST either run the game from the nba2003.exe file within the copied folder, or, as I instructed, rename that file and make a new desktop shortcut. If you are trying to start the game from the screen that comes up when you insert the NBA Live 2003 cd (which has a picture of Jason Kidd and gives the options of "Play" "Uninstall" "Read Me" and "Quit") the outdoor urban court will not appear in the game. Also, if you copied the folder, you cannot star the game from the original shortcut or from the start menu.
Once you have correctly started the patched version of the game, start a regular 5-on-5 game (like and Exhibition game). Once the game has loaded, pause the game. From the pause menu select "Settings", then "Detail Settings" then, under the "Preset Defaults" section, select "Environment" then "Medium". I apologize for not making this clear in the patch; I used RimRocka's original instructions which said "Stadium" instead of "Environment".
From this same menu, select "Reflections" and select "Off". This is not entirely necessary, but it will stop the players from being reflected in the concrete.
In "Preferences" you can change the commentary volume level to zero if you desire.
I hope this has cleared up any problems with the patch. Once again, and I cannot stress this point enough, you must read the ReadMe!!.txt file completely in order to correctly install this patch! I tried to make this patch as automatic as I could, but you still have to do a little work to make it work.

OOPS! SparX was absolutely right; there was an error in the batch file. I had transfixed a couple of digits. If you want the quick fix, download his fixed zip. I'll update my patch asap, hopefully with a couple other small fixes/additions.
Again, sorry for not really believing that something was wrong with my patch (still not entirely sure why it worked for me when I double-checked it), and thanks again to SparX.
I'll also have a new patch for playing 5-on-5 in the practice gym...I'm still trying to get the beach court to work properly.

Thu Mar 20, 2003 7:53 am

FINALLY now the patch works :P ...and now i have a new question (i'm sorry if someone already asked this before  ), can i change the jerseys that players have into their own practise jerseys? ..for example if i play with the lakers 5 on 5 i play with their normal jersey...but can i change that so that kobe has his own practise jersey and shaq and all of the other players have their own? ..i really hope you understand what am i asking  ...thanks!

p.s. sorry for my lousy english

Thu Mar 20, 2003 8:41 am

Yes, you can. Just download some complete player update that has practice gear included, install it, go to the /render/xplayer/kobryan (this is just the example what name of the folder for Kobe is), and rename the prxx.fsh into home.fsh or away.fsh ...

Thu Mar 20, 2003 8:54 am

the new install bat works for me but now it crashes when i try to load a game, any ideas, i've done the custom art 1 thing. i see no reason why it is crashing????

Thu Mar 20, 2003 1:07 pm

same problem! my game also crashes

Thu Mar 20, 2003 7:43 pm

The crashes might be caused by the fact that the patch only uses the high polygon models. That's the way RimRocka originally had it, so that's the way I did my version, too. I thought about doing a low poly version, too.
BTW, I fixed my patch installer (you may want to see if this one prevents the crashes), and also added some extras. I updated the bleachers on the sideline so that the bench players have a place to sit, and I moved that tree that the players had to walk through as they entered & left the court.
I also did a new 5-on-5 patch for the practice gym court.
You can get these at the links I posted (also, see the other thread I made for more details).
