Question?

So, i just joined this page, because I want to update my '03.
I've went threw lots of the threads and I'm not sure what I have to down load it, to get it as up to date with 08/09 as possible. I found some links, but they don't work. On the other hand, the ones I found, I'm not sure where to put them in the game, so that they will work.

If someone could help me get my game up to date, I'd be so grateful.

few things first of all, dont double or triple post, just edit your first post

2ndly thread views are basically useless, when google trolls through for its searches it counts as a view and also guest views (people who arent signed up/signed in)


for your issue I dont know what updates you are trying for but with TRU there is a readme file telling you how to install the update.

Well, I downloaded the Tru Update, it's not totally updated, AI plays for denver, Brand for LA, etc. And the new rookies aren't there, but I saw a thread about it, so I guess I have to download that too.

I got it to work, I added to the games saved file and then loaded it like a normal roster.

Now I need the patches for the rookies and newer players, uniforms, salaries, stats, etc.

If I find them and download them, do I install them the same way I did the roster?

youll probably have to move the roster you download to your my documents/nba live 2003/saves folder

That's what I did, it worked. Now I need patches for the faces and all. I even got some of the new logos on there now too. I just try to find the matching files on the game and change them out. It's slow, but it's working..

Look, I don't want to post 50 million times, but I'm having a serious problem figuring this out.
I'll tell you exactly want I'm looking for and if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

- New most up to date roster for NBA LIVE 2003, preferably from 08/09, rookies and all.
- The patches so the faces aren't black.
- The current stats for each player. Such as ppg, etc.
- Current jerseys patch wouldn't hurt and current courts. Current Logos.

That's pretty much all I can think of.

I got the old 07 roster to work, that's not a problem and some of the logos I found wasn't hard either.
I downloaded player face patches, but I don't know where to put them or how to get them to work.

So, pretty much, I need someone to show me the links, where I can download these things and maybe some one who can tell me what folders form the 2003 game I'm suppose to put them in.I know where all these folders for the game are located, I just don't know what I'm suppose to take out and what I'm suppose to put in. I'm not a complete rookie at this, I just need a little help from a veteran.

I don't want to bug with 50 posts, I just really want to play this game updated. I love this game. I even went on the search to find it again on pc cause the original I played to death. I had it for ps2, but it's not the same, it's so bad that Yao Ming isn't even in it. I love the game play, I've bought 04 and 08 and I hate them. I said if they ever made a new version of the game, but with the game play and graphics of 03, I would buy it. Now I have the opportunity to actually play 03 with updated rosters and I am so stoked, I want it to work.

So please gimme a break and maybe gimme a hand,

there is none to my knowledge, no one has made one since TRU

search (i know its horrible but im not going to do it for you) the players name and youll probably find the CF in this 1 forum

i dont know of any community roster update that has done this

I dont give handouts and I doubt others are going to help much since the TRU mod kinda phased out a little bit after the draft so you need to learn how to search the forums

go to C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA Live 2003\main\cscripts, open xstartup.cfg with notepad, scroll down near the bottom of the text, and replace the line "customart 0" with "customart 1"

I do search the forums, most of the threads I find are previews, but no links. But I'll keep my eye out and try looking again. Btw, A free hand out, I'm just asking for help, isn't that one of the main purposes of a forum, ... whatever.

there's a thread that has the 08-09 opening night roster, so you need to manually transfer/trade AI and chauncey

just wait for SUM08, it will have the most updated patches

as for the faces, if you downloaded a folder named "render", then just paste it on the nba live folder, if you have folder names similar to player names, then just paste it inside render/xplayer, if i remember it right, every patch has a readme file on it.

latest roster- opening night roster by tommy...
cyberfaces- put all ur cyberfaces/face files in a created folder named "xplayer" in the render folder...
latest stats- i dont know...i think it doesnt really matter...
current jerseys, courts, art files- wait for SUM08...

ok, so far, it's been working, but the problem is now (my fault). I had a roster, it was from last season, so it wasn't totally up dated, but it was the roster where the faces were missing the patches. I had that, but deleted it, now I can't seem to find it on here again.

I downloaded another roster, it was practically up to date, but the players were made on create a player.
I have all the cyberfaces, but they don't seem to work.

I made a folder called xplayer and put it in the render folder. It doesn't seem to work though. (Because of the roster I DLed.

Um, I downloaded the cyberfaces, and in the xplayer folder are separate folders for each players cyberface, do I have to unpack those individually or can I just leave them in their own folders?

leave them, i think it doesnt matter if some of the players are created using "create a player", cause you have all star players with excellent cyberfaces, only not so famous players or those that earn money by cheering the team and joining them on practice are the ones that are created using the game feature, mine is working, roster is on the saved folder at my docs/nba, faces are on render/xplayer, courts are on xcourt, jerseys on xteam, did you change customart?

I think the cyberfaces look better than the created ones.

I did it the first time and then my game didn't work anymore. I could always try it again...

Hey, even though I changed all the logos, Seattle will always be seattle right? Or can you change that too, cause I have OKC logos (even though the jerseys don't seem to work.) But they are still called Seattle on the game.

This shit is all confusing, lol!

for okc, u have to change their teamabr2 at teams.dbf from its original abr, to "ok", that will activate all the logos,courts, and jerseys for okc, and yes, in the game audio, they are still called seattle supersonics.
folder names are their playerpkgs, example: "magasol" for marc gasol, u dont have to edit folder names, all you have to do is to extract the files u have downloaded on the right directories.

This is getting frustrating, I'm doing these things and nothing is working. It's irritating.
I'm having a conflict between the roster and the cyberfaces.
I tried to download other rosters, but all the links seem to be dead.

Ok, render folder, have it, I put a folder inside of it called xplayer, inside the xplayer folder and different folders for each players cyberface. Is that correct?

In render, do I have to make folders called xcourt and xjersey, etc. The same way?

I wish someone could hook me up with a roster, where the patches are missing, even if it's a roster from 07-08, what I had DLed before, but no longer have. I really do believe, this roster that I currently have, where the updated roster is with all players created by create a player won't work with the patches I have.

I think it's also conflicting with my franchise mode, because it won't open, when I want to start a new one. I think it's because most of the players have no faces, like it's blank, like the Bobcats players.

That's a problem too, when I first got franchise to work, the bobcats aren't available, but the next year the computer uses them and the season then has 86 games.

I really want this game to work and be relatively updated, but it's giving me brain cancer getting it up to date.

the roster is just a .dbf file so it will surely work, im using tommy's opening night roster, it worked the first time i tried it
