i just finished playing lakers vs. magic and before i played the game i thought i'd try turning my defense up another notch so i set the pressure as high for everyone.. and i doubled mcgrady and had kobe guarding him.

i won the game barely 169-167 by a last second cut to the basket by derek fisher.

anyways back to the game, mcgrady torched me for 76 points!! he nailed seven 3 pointers and was relentless attacking the basket.. it was driving me nuts. t-lue finished w/ 28 assists.

what i don't get is how i managed to hold them to 35% shooting in the first quarter and they started torching me in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and ended up shooting 51% for the entire game. is it the patch or is it the game?
this pissed me off like a mother.

kobe had player of the game honours btw with 42 points, 9 boards, 11 assists, 2 block, 3 steals, 1 turnover, 6 fouls

gary payton was a monster too, mostly on defense. gp finished the game with 16 points, 5 boards, 17 assists, 4 blocks, 4 steals, 3 turnovers

karl malone - 22 points, 15 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block

shaq - 27 points, 11 boards, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 3 assists

devean george - 12 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal

6th man of the game

rick fox - 16 points, 2 boards, 3 assists, 1 block

Yeah, McGrady is hard to defend... Try to select the CPU's set play so that the team can play more properly,

T-Mac is hard to defend but he can be stoped. i had him to maybe 12 or 15 pts. i think ur problem is that u cant pressure and double team eveyone. the more players u ask to be pressured on and doubled teamed the weaker the double team becomes, think about it.

plus what i noticed is that this game is all about offence, there is no real pressure D, ur only D is 1st Block 2ndSteal, thats all. and with this game ther are a lot of patterns its very easy to see when a player will shoot the 3.
if u have kobe on t-mac just stay infrom the whole time, u can see the screens comming and u go arond them, as he gets closer and closer to the bucket try to steal or jump for the blok!

i've tried doubling.. and sometimes tripling to contain him but it doesn't work.. he just drives through the defense.. i stay infront of him most of the time but he jukes left and right with his crossovers.. and i can't lift my hands up coz i play using the keyboard.. i can contain his teammates easily but i can't contain him.. it's tough .. what i notice is i can contain some people for the first 2 quarters but they erupt in the 2nd half.. hope they fix this in 2004

I know that problem and I know how to fix one player being shooting all the time...

It depends on what player he is in the dbf (shooter, swingman 1, swingman 2, big man with outside shot...). If he is such a shooter, he will always try to attack the basket when he gets the ball. I have always had this problem with McGrady or e.g. Mashburn, they always made a minimum 40 points against me (playing on 9 min quarters). Now I have set all players primacy to "0" and removed all "shooters" and made them to "swingman 2". Now they will score much, too, but not in such enormous numbers!
