How to change the playing time of players?

Tue Aug 05, 2003 5:03 am

I just simulated a whole season a few times, just to be sure what records teams set at the end of the season. My problem is: Lakers, San Antonio, Sacramento etc. end up with about 42-42 or worse, so i searched for the Reasons: Sacramento for example is that bad because Divac only plays 9 min/ game and has just 2,9 pts. Same with the other teams. The starters of each team play about 26 mins, the backups just 9. LAL often even doesent make the Playoffs. Now, how can I change the simulated playing time of the players? I tried to let them play two positions so they can play 10 min. at Center and 10 at Power Forward: No way! The Computer again gave ´em just 9 min. pt. Divac doesent even share Min. with a second Backup Center, i put the second on the Injured List, so he cant play. I also lowered the endurance of the starting C, again nothing. :(

Anyone an idea?

Thanx 4 your help.

Check that your sim. quarter lenght is 12 minutes

It's a problem with the simulation engine. The bench doesn't get realistic averages, even with Dstats.

It is. That is why at least the results are realistic. 80-79 or 107-112...

In that case, there's not much you can do, except to simulate a few games at a time, and have your bench players start a few games to get their averages up.
