Duplicating All-Star Teams

Sat Jun 28, 2003 10:22 pm

can i duplicate both the west and east all-star teams???

cause when i do this the game crashes... is there a way to prevent this???

i am asking this cause im trying to make all-star + rookie game patches in one... thank you...

EDIT: 1 All-star and 1 Rookie Game per patch or maybe all in one...

When you duplicate the All-Star teams, are you changing the appropriate IDs? Each team must have its own unique ID number (starting with Atlanta: 0, 1, 2, 3 etc).

i do.... but not for the jerseys, i just copy the entries of the teams then paste them and then change the IDs...

What are you using to edit the DBF files, and when does the crash occur?

i use DB Commander and it crashes while trying to load an exhibition/any game... (when the player laying up gets orange, when there are tips)

There must be an error somewhere in the DBF, an invalid value perhaps. If you're using DB Commander then it's unlikely you've corrupted the DBF file, just entered some invalid data.

How exactly did you duplicate the All-Star teams using DB Commander?

i just 'copy entry' then 'paste entry' and then i change the IDs...

A more suitable method (a little longer but less likely to corrupt the file) is to manually enter the data to a new row. Go to the last row in players.dbf and press down to create a new row. Then manually type in the necessary data column by column, making sure to give the new teams a new ID.
