Young players potential!!!???

Fri Apr 25, 2003 4:03 am

it seems liek players randopmly get better or worse, or dont change at all. Is there a way to make a players potential higher? I.E. Kwame Brown, Amare stoudemire, Tony parker, Gerald wallace, etc....

If its possible to make players have higher potential, please put that in the next roster patch.

so, more dramatic improvements. For example, stoudemire might only go from an 80 overall to an 81 overall from one year to the next. He should go to liek an 84/85. All players with high potential should be changed, Thanks.

Check the players.dbf editing guide, on this very site. It says
players.dbf wrote:CAREERPKG: Career Package. Determines a player's chances of improving/declining. Ranges from A (excellent chances) to J (little chance).

I can change their CAREERPKG, but their development will still be fairly random, since the CAREERPKG only determines the chances of a player developing or declining. A higher value does not mean a player will definitely develop.

Kwame has gone from a 78 to a 79, while Haywood went from 78 to 81. But I traded Brendan Haywood to the Hornets for Jamaal Magloire.

realy overall rating will have little effect on simulated game... lakers have walker has a high rating but does nothing.... when u simuating always look at players ppg when trading!!

That's somewhat true, but the overall rating does play a role in trades and free agency, so it can't be disregarded completely.

does anyone think its to late to start posting a new franchise?

Mon Apr 28, 2003 1:22 pm

Not at all. Even when NBA Live 2004 is released, it won't be too late - not everyone gets the new game when it comes out.

But I think most people will get nba live 2004 just because it can't get any worse tahn what it is now.

True, most people will get it, but some of those who didn't enjoy NBA Live 2003 probably won't buy NBA Live 2004, expecting a similar product.
