how do i install a player update patch?

i have a problem: every time i enter the values as said in the readme file,
(USing CDBF) all i get is A lebron james with a black head the problem also makes my players at the startup screen disappear, and his face doesnt show up in the box when i choose him for 1on 1! i would
deeply greatful as well as for ever in your debt if you can tell me what im i doing wrong!!!!!!!!!! thank your for time and effort
