Switching Teams as GM during season...

Is there a way to switch teams in Franchise team (as GM) during the season ? I tried changing the team.dbf in the saved directory to the new team, but it didn't take when I restarted then game.

What I'd like to do is watch all of the playoff games during post season. I haven't found a way to do this if you aren't the GM of the team playing. So I'm trying to figure out how to switch teams (as GM) just for the game, so I can watch the game.
