I just finished the season as champs and am trying to sign free agents. However, whenever I try to sign free agents that have a high rating (like Jason Kidd) the sign free agent button is disabled. Why? Is there a way to solve this?
Sorry for double posting, but I have waited for a long time and no one's answering my question.

well , i can't understand exactly what you you say , signing a free agent is easy , you can do it straight away but i don't think you can do it during a season ( altough computer asks you in between about it ) , have you started playoffs?? , are you able to do it for other players like Tracy , Bryant ? just tell me !! , may be some other way i can help you ,

1. You're playing in Franchise mode right? In the northeast of the screen, you have the "how much years you want signing the player"... just try increase this and the sign player will probaly work.
2. Maybe you have 15 players in your team, wich means the team roster are full. Release someone and you will be able to sign him.

To make my qn more specific:
1. This free agent thing is after the playoffs. Like during the offseason.
2. It is not that the players refuse to sign, it is that the button is disabled.
Can anyone like, show me how you actually manage to sign players with high ratings during the offseason? (Like show me an image with the button enabled) Thanks. The button is only enabled when I click on players with ratings below 80 or something. one thing's for sure, I cannot sign Tim Duncan even though he is a free agent.
Oh another thing. What are waived points?

umm well its probably because you in negative points.
You cant sign players if your below in the negative points region.
Just look around im sure u'll find a thread that would solve your problem.

Oh yes...you are right...can only sign players with minimum points.
Erm...is there any way to reduce the player's demands for more points? (Other than offering a longer contract)

Not really, unless you edit the salary file via a dbf editor.
