Why so terribly slow with a Geforce 3

I have downloaded video drivers, sound drivers, but the game goes slow even in lowest resolutions. My computer supports all the requirements perfectly and I have no problems with other games.
Does anybody have had a similar problem?
Could it be solved modifying the properties of Geforce3? If it can be, please suggest some changes in the configuration of the video card.
