official ea patch?

hi!
has anyone of you sucessfully patched his live 2k3 with the official patch, which is available at the ea-page? i've just tried to patch my game and it didn't work! what are your experiences with that patch?

don't get too excited, it's a bullsh*t patch...

but if you want to give it a whirl, go to this url http://www.nbalive.com and then click on downloads... it will have a link to "update your pc-cd game" click on that and follow the links...

it will say some shit like click here to patch, then asks you to authorise ea sports to launch an activex control. Then when the patching process is completed, it will give you 2 (count em) TWO thumbs up saying the patch is installed or some shit.

Click on the read me file and spew about how they decided to fix the insignificant issues that probably 5-10 per cent of the users suffer, only to play it and realise that the game is full of sh*t...

they patched the wrong areas!!!

well after getting the patch there is two things i noticed first i got an increase of 5 fps and also you miss a lot of dunks i tested with vince carter and he mises more dunks than before. i was not using any roster updates or tweaks. this patch does only little changes which is pretty shitty. ea did terrible job with patch.

I wonder if the NLSC staff has any info about EA releasing or starting to work on another patch anytime soon. One that actually fixes some gameplay issues.

I don't have any info about that, sorry. I wasn't aware that the official patch had been released (I knew it was coming) until I read this thread.

I followed the instructions and got a message saying that there were not any new updates available. Do you think they took back and patch and are working on it again?

i noticed another thing with the patch, when i'm practicing with kobe in the gym, when i used to dunk the backboard shook after i dunked. but after i installed the patch, it doesnt anymore. why did EA take that out, i thought that was cool.......i guess they didn't :roll:

Andrew it is possible that you check out, what happend wiht the update ?

Every time I tried to update through Start->Programs->EA Sports->NBA Live 2003->Check for Update, it could not find the new patch. Instead, I went here, and clicked "Check for Update". It will find an available update, and change to a "Download Now" link. Click "Download Now", and then it will take a few minutes to install. During this time, it will appear as if nothing is happening, but you will probably notice your internet browser downloading very slowly. When it's done, the button will display two thumbs and a completion message.

Alright, I was able to download the patch, but I still get crappy frame rates using USB controllers. It's still the same! I thought it was fixed?

i think game will always look crappy coz if compared with live2001 this game is running with double speed (a real arcade!)and i tried with both systems (98 se& xp pro with 1ghz p3,256ram,64mb gforce 4) with medium detail settings or even lowest but
frame rates never was high as live 2001.Hmm...
results of console adaptation suppose...
