Franchise Mode Get's Boring

Thu Dec 19, 2002 11:56 pm

I Downloaded The demo of NbaLive 2k3 on the day it was on the web. My thoughts were: This is going to fun. I read about the new improved franchise mode, and I couldn't wait till it hit the stores. But now, after a month of playing it, i would like to send it back to EA Sports.
The Games are not worthy playing, cause in Superstar Mode the only one who's scoring is your star. So i went out and traded for Bryant(PG), McGrady(SG), Lewis(SF), Griffin(PF) and Nowitzki(C). A lineup that can do it all!!!! Alright, my bench was thin but who's going to complain when all your starters (Except Griffin) are scoring 20+ a night? The only Concern was: Why not trading for draft picks? EA even put it in NHL 2001. I simulated the rest of the way, and was waiting for the summer. I got my first ouch when i saw Jamie Feick(???!) getting the sixth man award and some superstar getting the most improved! What's That? The Rookie was Not Ming, Butler or Williams, it was some rookie of the bench. Sorry EA, even Chuck couldn't have made this up. Then there was some guy in the low 70s who refused to resign with me! I just won the Championship, he got playing time (being the only one at his position), and was in the low 70s. What was this guy up to? He wouldn't be a starter on any other roster, may not even get playing time off the bench, and still refuses to sign with the Champ? Sorry again. Same with Superstars. The get playing time, scoring lots of points, getting rebounds etc., are on a winning team, so what's up? I just can't believe it. I couldn't sign any of the top free agents, but it wasn't necessary. The next season, i had the first game of the season, and went to the Free Agent market, to see who fits in the missing roster spot(I Forfeited all of my draft picks because they were to low!). Look who's out There! 3 mid 90s, about a dozen 80s, all up for the minimum. Look, heres the deal. I understand that some teams are over the cap and can't sign the superstars. But what does a player do when he can't get the Max? He even stays with his own team for the max or signs for less with a team that a) lacks his position or b) is on the run for the ring! A one year contract for 150000 should (in Duncan's or any other supertars case) available. they get their max contracts after a year, but have to stick to what's out there . ( I've heard about bidding in Madden...).
The next year, I wasn't the one who played the first game, so i ended up with free agents in the low 70s. Can anybody explain that to me?
So finally, here are some points that ea sports should develop if they are thinking about a patch.
- Let all teams start at the same time(Not at the start of their first game!)
- Give an option to trade darft picks!
- Update the free agent signing!
- (Optional) Give reasons why players don't want to stay or sign!
- Take the real salary's and the real Cap!
- Give awards to players who really deserves them.
Please, I've heard so many good things about Madden, don't do this to me just because I'm playing B-Ball instead of Football!

Of course it would get boring if u have a superstar team, theres no challenge. Players dont resign because they dont like your team and want to move on to another team to get better numbers. You should know most improved award means they start of bad in the beggining of the season, and improve there numbers at the end. The sixth man is not going to be any superstar (Shawn Marion, VC). And PLAY ALL GAMES!!

You're wrong about the Most Improved Player Award. It's based on who's improved over the previous season.

Jaime Fieck Must have paid EA...It seems so far I know of at least 15 people who have had him as 6th man, and he has absolute terrible stats.

Vin After seasons I scrolll quickly at other teams, 6th men..

Mike Miller ave, 8.4 ppg (30 starts)
Reuben Patterson 9.3 ppg (1 start)
Mike Redd 7.4 ppg (0 starts)
LaVar Burns 11.4 ppg (24 starts)
...

Jamie Feick 1.9 ppg(0 starts)

What the ucks with that...

In my franhise Tim Duncan was MIP. He should never be MIP esp. if his stats were worst then the previous year!

Oh and Jared Jeffres was the ROY averaging 6.6...WTF? But when they showed al rokie team, 3 people had more ppg. 4 had more rpg. 2 had more apg. Jeffries led bpg, and 3 had more spg.
