Scoring average

Postby Willie M. on Thu Dec 05, 2002 7:05 pm

Hi,

How can I change the average a player will score, rebound etc in sim games? When changing his ratings he just keeps scoring the same amount of points. How do I change this?

You can change simulated stats by editing the Dstats in players.dbf. These are example statistics that are used to determine the kinds of numbers a player will produce in simulated play. You can either delete a player's Dstats, which will force the game to calculate simulated stats from his ratings, or modify them to suit your tastes. Created and generated players do not have Dstats unless you edit them. All original non-rookies have Dstats.

At the end of players.dbf you will find columns of statisical data. The columns that begin with D (eg DFGMADE, DTHREEPTATT etc) are the Dstats (or Example Stats). I haven't compiled the guides to the Live 2003 DBF files yet, but the statistics columns are the same as the Live 2001 DBF files, so you can check our NBA Live 2001 DBF Editing Guide in the mean time.
