EA Sports Online (EASO) support has long since been discontinued for NBA Live 2003, I can't remember if it allowed IP to IP connections. If it does, that's the only way you'll be able to play; either you or your opponent will need to create a game, then provide the other person with your IP address so that they can connect to it.
