My tweak proposition...

Postby MLG33 on Wed Dec 11, 2002 6:01 am

I play NBA live with a friend and DK tweak player.dbf is too...tweak.
In Human Vs human mode, shot won't fall anymore. Some players are so under their real level. But THE IDEA IS GOOD !

I just want someone to explain me how we can decrease some ratings (for the entire league) and don't touch others. (like three points, rebounds....) :?:

Please help me in order to enjoy this game wich is the best !

Thanks anyway for all you gave me untill now.
you're the right, we love you !

Pippen is the greatest.

You are just taking bad shots. Not trying to be mean or come across cocky, just being honest in my thoughts of your problem.

I use DK's roster and I shoot high 50's low 60's in FG and high 60's in 3 pt.(which I think is above what DK expected) I often have games where I am in the 72% range(which is really unrealistic to me) but I get a TON of layups/dunks. And there is no higher percentage shot than that.

This game is all about taking OPEN looks, and not forcing. (which is tough since pick and roll barely works) I am telling you, FG percentages are a function of clean looks and not "forcing" the shot. Inside outside game, pick and rolls, swinging the ball...etc.

Also,
You really need analogue to play the game as well. (sad but true)

If the person gets his hands up in your face (analogue stick up), you are going to miss 9 out of 10 even with a really good shooter.

The upfake trick works really well as well. Once they fall for the fake, shoot while they are coming down. You will very likely hit. Or upfake, get him off his feet and take two dribbles.

Just think real basketball, if you are taking a low percentage shot, you will miss.

Remember, even paul pierces best shooting percentages where his shortened rookie year(players lock out) and he was only shooting 43.9%
This year he is shooting his worst ever and he is at 38.6%(roughly)

Hell, even Greg Hodges("Highway 14" who broke Larry Bird's 3 point contest record) only shot 41% from the deep sea of three.

Take smart shots in Human vs. Human and you will see your percentages rise.

dont you mean 'craig' hodges #14 from the bulls

pierce shot 44% from the field last year, this year he is only shooting 38.9%

his career % is 44.1

his lowest year was 43.9% in 98-99

and kerr's career 3pt % is 45.9

according to nb.com

"Although Pierce entered last night's contest ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring with 25.4 points per game, he was shooting only 38.7 percent from the floor and 26.4 percent from 3-point range. Both are career lows.

Pierce has never finished the season shooting worse than the 43.9 percent he posted his lockout-shortened rookie year. Last season, Pierce shot 44.2 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from 3-point range"

Boston globe 12/7:

To clarify the numbers and incorrect statement from my previous post.
DK's roster is still accurate which was the point of it all to begin with. Or well, accurate but maybe still too high as I shoot in the mid 60's for FG and 3 pt.

Craig, is what I meant(thanks), he was a nobody besides the 3 pt contest anyhow.
