How do I edit to get the simulated stats I want?

Fri Jul 11, 2003 2:35 pm

I'm trying to get more realistic simulated stats for some people but not having any luck. That's all I edited was (i think it was) the Dstats. (Example of how many <insert stat here> a player will make in simulated play)

Well I first just did Chandler, Curry, Williams, and Crawford b/c I didn't want to do too much and not have it work. Well they didn't get any of the stats that I put them to get. Since the game goes so much on what they did last season, do I have to change those stats that they got last season too?

Please tell me there is a way to do this. I hate seeing Curry getting like 9ppg and Kwame Brown like 2ppg, etc, etc.

What did you use to edit the DSTATS? Which file did you edit? The best way to edit a roster is to save it, edit out with the Toolkit or DB Commander, then re-load the edited roster. I don't recommend editing the files in the workdb or curdb folders.

I used the DB Commander. I was editing the dstats I assume. (the last ones in the row) The DFGATT, DFGMAD, DASSISTS type files.

Those are the correct fields, and you shouldn't have any problems with DB Commander. Were you editing a saved roster?

Yes. I copied the new roster and saved it as 051. Then I made the changes and loaded it and nothing happened when I simmed.

Is that all I have to do is edit the dstat fields?

That's all you need to do. Needless to say the changes won't have any effect on seasons that are already in progress. But editing the DSTATS will have an effect on simulated performance when starting a new Franchise with the modified roster.
