Deleting rookies??

Wed May 28, 2003 11:10 am

I want to delete some rookies from the free agency pool. Some of them are useless and take up lots of space. How would I go about doing this? Can I just delete their row of stats and info in DB Viewer? Would it effect anything?

You might be able to delete them simply by deleting the data using DB Commander. However, I suggest making a backup before you edit any DBF file from a season in progress.

If that does not work (or messes up the file), try this:

1. Save a roster into a new slot
2. Copy the players.dbf file from your season to this slot.
3. Make sure the player you wish to delete is set as a created player (will show up on the Created Players list).
4. Delete the player.
5. Save the roster, then copy it back to your saved season's slot.

This should leave player season statistics intact. However, make sure you have a backup handy in case anything goes wrong.
