The salary cap file (salary.ini) is in the felogic folder, located in the main game folder. The individual player salaries are stored in players.dbf. Check out the Players.dbf Editing Guide for more details.

You can edit a player's hardiness rating, but this will only affect the chances of him being injured during simulation.

thanks,i knew where the player salary was just the cap was a mystery,so then if you adjust salary cap value ,is that all you have to change.
there is a whole lot of figures there that look like they have to be adjusted, not just the total.
it would be handy if someone(like the people who already adjust salaries and caps) did a guide :D

If you edit the salary.ini file, you can change the size of the cap, as well as the size of the contract offers. However, this will not affect the players who are on an NBA roster when you start a Franchise. Their salaries will stay the same. Those other figures are just the different amounts of "points" you can offer when signing/re-signing a player. Note there are different figures for players with different overall ratings and positions.

Couldn't you just change the original dbf file?

That's what I meant, to edit existing player salaries you need to edit players.dbf.

Changes to salary.ini will affect free agent signings as well as the size of the cap.
