getting overall rating recalculated

Mon Feb 03, 2003 10:33 pm

I've been tinkering with the 2003 toolkit for a bit, and its really great and all, but I really miss a "recalculate overalls" function.

The overall ratings remain uncalcuted until I edit the player in the game itself. E.g. I wanna move a players position due to injuries or such. Then the player goes out of spec compared to the rest..

If you understand what I mean, I'd love a few tips. I'd hate having to open every single player in the game editor itself just to recalculate the overalls again.

Thanks, cheers

Still no-one who knows a way to recalculate all player overall ratings outside the game itself?

Its sitll really needed, otherwise the overall rating of draft rookies will be much higheder than the vets, alhtough their ratings are lower.

Yeah there are a lot of problems with the toolkit, it needs an update...

I noticed when I tried importing players, for some reason 'appearance' was greyed out?????? So anyone with a cyberface, I had to go through and type in the playerpkg manually....

And we need to be able to edit the gear and headbands and hairstyle, stuff that's easily editable in the dbf and is just a matter of adding a field to the toolkit...

So errr... is there any way to get hold of the mdb edition of the toolkit? or is that just the author who has this? (no opensource? freebsd?)

I've been programming access front-ends for 10 years now... should be possible..

But how exactly IS the overall rating calculated?

I see it isn't just an average of all the players ratings, but also his ratings compared to others in his position.. If someone could supply me with the math behind it..: I should be able to whiff up an editor for it.
