shooting free throws during internet play, NO WAY

Every time I play on the internet I cannot even manage to hit one FT.
Is this because of the slow ping? Is there a patch available, I heard it existed, but I cannot find it.

to clear up a few things... even if u play in rookie difficulty in the internet and your ping will be high you wont be able to hit ft's.
the speed can be a cause of :
1) distance between you and your buddy your playing against!
2) your internet speed (duh)
3) his internet speed
a bit of solutions to make less laggy gameplay and easier to hit (but not always) ft's:
close all open programs and CLOSE ALL ACTIVE DOWNLOADS! the more free bandwidth and memory you have the better the gameplay!
another tip is trying to locate a buddy that lives in your country or in a close place!
and if u are realy despert and have a lot of money buy the most expensive internet connection.
however, there is no patch that can fix this! this is a very common problem and mostly you can check how high is your ping by the time it takes the little ball on the free throw shooting to stop after you press shoot button, the more it takes him to stop the more ping you have.
it mostly will be causing some lag in the game as well and dont worry about it some days are better some days are worse!

Hah, I played against my roomate over the LAN and it was still impossible to hit free throws. You don't get any faster internet connection than we had between each other. It's just a part of the game.

then your problem has to be something else...
because I played with my friend from my country and I shot about 60% percent... its just a matter of closing all downloads and programs!

We have this problem too in our online league. Most players are from the same country and within close distance.
Even if the overall connect is perfect, we all make just about 20% of our FTs.
We are 15people and everyone has this problem online in 2003. In our previous seasons with Live 2001 we had no problems with FTs.
