computer question

yea i was looking to upgrade my cpu in my HP 85xx series computer. i was wondering if any of you would know of a good compatible cpu that i should get. thanks

i used to have a Gateway Select computer. i wanted upgrade to a much better CPU, but ended up having to buy a new motherboard. the mother board wasn't compatible with my Gateway case, so i ended up also having to buy a new case.
all in all i am very satisfied with my upgrades. the total upgrades costed me about $250, but I went from a AMD Athlon 750, up to an AMD Athlon XP 1800. Great upgrade. Huge difference noticed, and i am very satisfied with my upgrades.
anytime you are upgrading, i would recommend getting a new case and not going with an OEM case. i do tech support for a living, and used to sell comptuers too, so i could say i know what i'm talking about...
i would not recommend upgrading an OEM case comptuer, unless it's only for a processor or memory or a video card or something easy.
