Creative Gamepad does'nt work in NBA Live 2003

How come my Creative Cobra Gamepad doesn't work in Nba live 2003 but works in other ea games eg. Fifa 2003, Madden 2003. It seems silly to me that this gamepad works in other ea games but not this one. If anyone has any idea how to fix the problem I would really appreciate it.
