menu problems

hey
I installed live 2003 on my computer for the first time today and had no problems running it or playing it despite my computer being a piece of shit.
Then when I exited and ran the game again it seemed to load up fin enad the menu was fine for a second until jason kidd came up, as they do. then the screen went white except for the outline of kidd and a few other things. U can't see the mouse, making it impossible to do anything.
ANy help wiould be appreciated.
