I can't get roster patches to work!

I have uninstalled and re-installed live 2003 into the default directory
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 2003

and yet I still can't get patches to work. I've tried the to install many patches, the latest being Joe Mimic's update, and I unzip, click on the install file and it doesn't work this is what it says....

Installing........
Unable to create directory
File not found - players.dbf
File not found - save.dat
File not found - career.dbf
File not found - teams.dbf
File not found - tmcareer.dbf
File not found - teamgear.dbf
File not found - teaminfo.dbf
File not found - coaches.dbf

Also how do you do this?

"INSTALLATION: Unzip this archive to the 'saves' subfolder
in your 'Documents\NBA Live 2003' folder."

how do you unzip an archive to a specific folder using winzip? thanks again

Most roster patches (eg the NLSC roster and JoeMimic's roster) require you to unzip the files to My Documents\NBA Live 2003.

When you click the Extract button in Winzip, you will be presented with a box that allows you to specify a path to extract to. In this box, type:

C:\My Documents\NBA Live 2003\

No, it's where the saved files and screenshots are stored.

ive found adding files to the default directory seems to do the trick as well.
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA Live 2003

I can't speak for all rosters patches, but if you want to install the NLSC roster update automatically (ie using install.bat) you must extract the files to the My Documents\NBA Live 2003 folder, not the main game folder.

Cool I've worked it out somewhat.

I got the the following patches working

Joe Mimics roster update
Hornets Home court
National teams (plus courts and jersey patches)
91-92 season patch


I like the Mimic patch, but there are some probs with ratings (eg. Francis has 25' range, while BD only has 20', and BD is clearly the better shooter and he hits the treys almost as good as anyone......... apart from my bickering its a good patch.


BUT...... i cant seem to be able to get the top3 draft patch to work in conjunction with JoeM's patch. Anyone know how to get them to work together?
