How do I change a players body skin color?

Postby RandomSurge on Sat Aug 09, 2003 6:47 am

I'm sorry if this has been answered before. I tried a search in couldn't find anything.

There are players that simply don't fit the premade skin colors in live. I've seen patches where the actual body skin color was changed to match the face.

Right now I only know how to edit faces and other custom art, but I can't seem to find the body pictures to edit their skin color

any help?

The different skin tone are found in the xplycmm.viv (i think thats it, its something like that) 0-5 are the well-built ones, 10-15 are the middle muscularity, and 20-25 are no definition. If you want to change a players skin type to another already made one you edit the playrs.dbf, check andrews players.dbf editing guide for help on that.

so out of that file I export a skin tone, edit it, then import it back into the .viv then extract the file and add it to the player folder with the .fsh and .o files?

I know how to edit the skin tones in the .dbf...it's just that those skin tones aren't doing it for a certain cyberface

So extract the bskn you want, change the colour to what you want it to be, then save it as the players xxxxxxx_acc.fsh file. Or if you need to add tatoos before you're done.

I tried to do a custom skin for my marcus hatten complete update, but it kept crashing my game any time I picked him to go to practice mode

So I extracted the image (save as) from the .fsh, edited it, and saved it. Then I renamed it to mahatte_acc.fsh.

The ea graphics tool wouldn't let me import it back into the extracted skin.fsh...

so i just released the patch with no custom skin

am I supposed to import the file back and not just rename it? but it won't let me...

u jus wanna edit the hatten skin, rite? if theres an acc file 4 hatten in the xplayer.viv export that and open it with nfsh-tool (it converts it into images and creates a folder 4 them, 4 example when u open "mahatte_acc.fsh" with nfsh-tool it creates a folder called "mahatte_acc" with the pics in it, the bskn, 2. go 2 that folder and edit the pic that shows the skin, save the changes and dont rename it, now copy all the files from the mahatte_acc folder 2 the nfsh-tool folder and drag the index.fsh and drop it on the nfshtool.exe, that converts the images back into fsh...i no this mite b confusin but i cant explain better...

thing is, hatten isn't in the .viv file, he's created and doesn't have an acc file to begin with. And I obviously don't want to overwrite the nbalive files...

if I were to use an existing player's acc file (would have to find one of the same color and muscle text), then they probably have accesories on it or something

hmm...can't I simply extract a skin.fsh file, edit it and rename it??
