different running styles...can I change them?

Postby RandomSurge on Mon Aug 04, 2003 11:45 pm

there are two running styles in the game....one where the player leans forward (usually guards) and a more erect posture style (for big men)

now I seem to be stuck with a couple of players that are running like the opposite

lebron james and tim thomas are running too straight up....like big men...no matter how high the speed rating is, they'll keep running this way, and it affects how much ground they cover with each step...so they're slower than they should be

now I have tyson chandler and donyell marshall running like guards, leaning forward a lot...and I want to change them so they fun more straight up

no matter what the speed or quickness ratings...the styles don't change

is there a setting somewhere so I can change this?

It's based on their height and weight. Any player who is 6'7" and over 230 pounds (it may be 235, I forget) will use a different running animation.

that's what I thought too, but tyson chandler is 7 feet tall and he runs like a guard

and he's 235

It could be 240 pounds, like I said the exact figure escapes me at the moment.

Could be 245, but I think Nowitzki's less than that, yet he has the "big man" jumpshot and running animations.

Could it be based on the BODYTYPE attribute and not just the weight? I'm just guessing...

It might, but I think it's only a combination of height and weight. I've created a 5'3", 265 pound player, and he used the same running animation as other small players.
