technical problem

i recently reformatted my comp for the first time and in the process switched from windows me to windows 2000. i installed nba live 2003 but whenever i try to play the jason kidd logo comes on for a bit and then the screen just flickers and then im back at windows... has anyone else had this problem? and if so, how did you fix it? thanks
