Hosting online Games with a Router....

Has anyone found out a way to effectively do this without unhooking the router? I wanna host some games in my league but if i unhook my router i will mess up the web sites and FTP that i host.

I am able to host online games (at least on the online matchup service) by mapping port 6248 in my router to the machine I'll be using to play. I also have ports 13500 and 21201-21209 mapped, because the directions said those ports are used, but I don't think those were required (they might be, though).

I have no experience with direct internet connect, though.

What matching service do you use?

Also, when you use the matching service hosting is different i believe. i was able to play on the EASO service but can't host thru Direct Intenet Connection.

I use EASO. My guess is that in Direct Internet Connect, it probably sends your LAN IP (192.168.*.* or 10.10.*.*) instead of your outside IP. That's my best guess - I had this problem in NBA Live 2000 too even after port mapping. No idea if that's the case, sorry

Depends on the router you are using...usually routers have a config page, so go to that, and then there should be a section where you can tell a certain port to be redirected to a certain IP. So if your Windows machine has an IP of 192.168.0.2, then you should map port 6248 to 192.168.0.2.
