i've noticed that in the NCAA MOD, there's a function that could let me to choose between playing the NBA live 2003 or NCAA Mod, and they use different folder for graphics something like 'crender', i don't really understand this.
if i want to create a mod and don't want to overwrite the original nba files, what should i do?

i think this is what you meen;
you create a 'subfolder'. a folder that is named after the .viv file witsh holds the files that you have edited.
eg; if you are making a court file (court-files located in the 'xcourt.viv'-file) you create a folder named xcourt, and so on...
