Improving Graphics

Is there any program at all out there (besides DirectX) that can improve graphics on your PC? I have a shit videocard and I still need to save my money to buy a better one. I mean, I'm satisfied with my current game graphics now but the edges are kind of choppy and sharp. I already checked my videocard properties and it doesn't have anything about anisotropic filtering or anti-aliasing. Thanks for the help.
