i need real help about the updates!!!

I NEED REAL HELP!!!!! i clicked on the check for updates button on the nba live folder... now here comes the site.... there is a green "check for update" button... i clicked on it, and i see a red "patch available" "download now" button. i clicked it once again and it indicates "patch installed" with 2 thumbs up. i tried to run nba live 2003... still the problem on microsoft sidewinder wasnt resolved. i read the readme below and it says on number 2 that it will fixed issue with Microsoft Sidewinder Gameport Controller functionality disappearing during Gameplay.

but it doesnt work. i cant play with my cousin.... please advise me.. thanks

I think a couple of other people have said that the patch didn't fix issues with the MS Sidewinder. I don't have any solutions, except to visit EA's tech support site and look up/report the problem.
